Hey everybody I was wondering are there other people that use the NASV [New american Standard version or bible](77) ? I am now using it and I kinda like it. Also how does it compare to ESV and New King James?

I use it to preach from. I like its literal-ness.
"Certainly"? That is not the view of most who use English Bible versions. The NIV remains the top choice.Certainly better than the NIV IMO

What an inane remark Rm.And Joel Osteen draws thousands every week.
What an inane remark Rm.
D.A. Carson uses the NIV. You respect him.
Many false teachers throughout the years have used the KJV.
Joyce Meyer uses the Amplified.
False teachers use a variety of good Bible translations to support their errors. You have proved nothing.
What argument? Everything I said in post #9 is true. Your left field remark about Joel Osteen still retains its inane status. You have no real argument so you default to your usual fallacies.
I'm sorry guys can we please not debate stuff here all I was wanting to know was if other people use the NASV(77).
Rippon and Revmitchell not debate on a debate thread? Won't happen.I'm sorry guys can we please not debate stuff here all I was wanting to know was if other people use the NASV(77).

However, the 1995 NASB is better than its predecessor. In many respects it is superior to the ESV. Although the ESV has some strengths in its favor where the 1995 NASB is weak.
I like the contrasts Deacon (Rob) has pointed out between the two editions of 1977 and 1995. The ESV retains too many "ands" while the 1995 NASB substitutes other conjunctions.
The NASBee ;-) is a fine translation. Thankfully we have other choices to fill in the gaps.
Thanks guys for the replys so far. I just go the NASV(77) a few days ago. I was wondering if people still use 77 edition of the NASV. I was wondering is there any difference between the 77 edition and the 95 edition?
