    Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself, I am Sean Melton, a serial internet entrepeneur who recently got the opportunity to take over Baptist Board from @AndrewT which I am very excited about.

A little background on myself, I currently live in Houston, Texas, and go to Houston's First Baptist here locally.

One of the first positive changes I have made is switching over the forum from VBulletin to XenForo. This software change will allow us to have lots of new features and functionality which will help take this forum to the next level.

Secondly, I have introduce the new theme which you will be seeing now, this theme is fully responsive so if you would like to browse the forum on your phone or tablet, you can do so effortlessly.

Lastly, I have removed some of the "advertisements" on the forum to help increase the user interaction, some of them appeared a bit "spammy" to me, which I did not like and have removed.

If you have any questions, please let me know! I hope you enjoy the new forum theme.

    Thanks,

    Sean

I appreciate removing some of the adds, but this new look is horrid! Is there a way to select something akin to the old look or are we stuck with this?

Also there doesn't appear to be a way to just look at unread posts or to bring up just the last post in a thread.

Can we have the old system back?

Not done with it yet, give it another hour or so and then take a look. :)

Down at the bottom of the page there is a Forum Style Chooser. The Default look is somewhat like the old look.

Classic Baptist response. A total fear of change!

Think everything looks great. Here's hoping that new management also brings a lock down on the trolls around here :).

Sean, I love the new look. I can't wait to dive into the new features. Will you be posting a list of the differences/improvements to BB?

One thing I see right away is the option to upload a file directly to your reply.

Which is really cool and convenient.

Why are all the responses from Friday until today missing from the existing threads? There was a lot of very good information in those posts that seems to have gone missing. :(

Classic legalist response. Assumes facts not in evidence. The problem is not "something new." The problem is all the old threads are missing responses from Friday until today.

You can see a good amount of them here: https://www.baptistboard.com/help/

This tells you a lot of the details on how to use XenForo.

No, of course the problem isn't with something new. I wouldn't want to misread your statements...

Yes, Matt, we all know you are not exceptionally bright but you really don't have to continually prove it. The new look is horrid because it is incomplete. It leaves out way to much information previously posted. Car we go back to the old, complete, threads? Got it now or should I try to dumb it down even more?

I don't understand why you need to be so angry over this? Missing posts has nothing to do with the new look. If your complaint is that there are missing posts, try and be reasonable and separate that from criticism on the new look of the forum.

I'm sure Sean put in lots of hard work to make this transition. Maybe you should cut him a little slack and realize that a few missing posts from this forum isn't the end of the world?

Having owned a board of my own I understand the complexities of making these changes. Go with what you will and ignore the criticism that is not helpful.

That comment was way over the top and unnecessary.

There you go, assuming facts not in evidence again. I am not angry. I never said I was angry. Do you just make this stuff up as you go along?

It does if the "new look" is incomplete due to missing posts! Duh!
Nothing to separate. Same thing. Same issue.
I wouldn't know as I have no clue who Sean is, but I assume he is trying to improve the forum. But if we don't tell him what is missing how will he know and seek a fix for the problem?

"Serial Internet Entrepreneur" -- I like it.

Hmmm...Browsing on my phone is pretty easy, compared to the old vBulletin software. Will this site be TapaTalk compatible?

Also, I don't see any quote buttons to quickly generate {QUOTE} {/QUOTE} tags. That's going to be an inconvenience, esp. on a mobile device.

Missing posts and the forum theme or look are two completely different issue. Posts may have gone missing due to the transfer of info from one type of software to another. Sean has changed from Vbulletin software to Xenforo and sometimes that transfer does not go as planned. We may just have to deal with the loss of previous posts. There are bigger things in life to worry about. Anyway the loss of info has absolutely nothing to do with the look of the board.
