Not sure how to quote so will revert to manual method. :)

After I am done finishing up the style, I will try and merge those old posts in from Friday till this Morning.
Thanks. I am a crippled up old man who finds typing very challenging (which you will note from my many typos). So thinking about having to retype all that stuff was just a bit stupefying. Or maybe stupidefying. :D
Sorry for the inconvenience everyone.
No problem. Learning to live with things is my retirement job. :D

One thing you may want to change:

"Care to buy us a beer? We'd really appreciate it!"

You changed the title in the template from "Buy us a beer!" to "Buy us a coffee!", but missed the "beer" in the following text. Doesn't bother me, but you will end up hearing from the teetotalists in a little while :).

All that being said, some of us actually *liked* the old board better than having to deal with Facebook-like displays.

Some things are in the eye of the beholder.

And how do we now send and receive PMs? Am I missing something?

One of your new "Facebook" type icons at the top is a little envelope. Click that you'll see where you can start a new "conversation".

There's probably a lot of stuff that Sean is working on behind the scenes, perhaps PM's is one of them. I counsel patience--let's see what shakes out in the next week or so. This stuff takes time to implement correctly.

Hi All,

Firstly, I would like to introduce myself, I am Sean Melton, a serial internet entrepeneur who recently got the opportunity to take over Baptist Board from @AndrewT which I am very excited about.

A little background on myself, I currently live in Houston, Texas, and go to Houston's First Baptist here locally.

One of the first positive changes I have made is switching over the forum from VBulletin to XenForo. This software change will allow us to have lots of new features and functionality which will help take this forum to the next level.

Secondly, I have introduce the new theme which you will be seeing now, this theme is fully responsive so if you would like to browse the forum on your phone or tablet, you can do so effortlessly.

Lastly, I have removed some of the "advertisements" on the forum to help increase the user interaction, some of them appeared a bit "spammy" to me, which I did not like and have removed.

If you have any questions, please let me know! I hope you enjoy the new forum theme.

Thanks,

Sean

Hello Sean, and welcome to the forum, I hope your time here is blessed and that in turn you are a blessing to those here.

Just curious if you were going to put in more than one skin, if that is possible with the host you are using now. While this one is not bad the white is a little glaring, lol.

How long have you been working on this? I have had a few problems with the functions recently, was that due to work on the forum?

Anyway, again, welcome to the forum.

God bless.

Just a quick update, TapaTalk will be instead shortly to work with the new software.

Also, I will be making a few other adjustments (and adding new features). Stay tuned.

If you see any issues, please let me know.

I personally would like to hear your testimony. From what I gather you buy and sell websites to push your own online advertising system and quite frankly, because of past experience with this sort of thing, I don't feel it bodes well for this remaining a true Christian run forum. It seems to me this is company held, not personally ownership.

From my initial post I explained that I myself am Baptist. I did not purchase this website for the purpose of turning a profit or buying and selling it. That is what I do for my day job yes, however, I have always had a passion to own a Christian website, and thought it was really neat when this became available for purchase.

My goal is to make this the best Baptist (and Christian in general), forum online, with the hope of being able to bring more people online to the faith. :)

"From what I gather..." Where did you 'gather' this information? The owner of the domain name, who took over on Sept. 26, 2015, is not published.

What difference does it make if the website is owned by an individual or a company? Someone is going to own it, no matter what, and companies are run by people.

What are the hallmarks of a "true Christian run forum"?
