I would disagree with your statement ..... if you felt so SAFE, why all the firepower? This tells me that while you do trust Jesus, like I do, you are willing to do your best to protect your life and the life of your loved ones!

Awesome display of firepower, by the way! Note to self: Do not antagonize or anger Tom any more! :D

That does not seem to have worked in san Bernadino, or indeed, elsewhere.

Well, I have to disagree with your statement. Making a choice to be prepared is not dependent on feeling unsafe. From my life insurance to the tire patch kit in my car, I prepare for many things that I don't really expect to happen and of which i am not afraid.

Feeling unsafe does not have to mean being afraid.

How many at the party were armed in San Bernardino? Oh, that's right! NONE!

The facility was a "Gun Free Zone."

Because, as a highly trained firearms instructor, I have the ability to defend myself if necessary.

Being prepared does not mean I am afraid. It only means I am prepared to defend myself and my loved ones from the evil of this present age.

I do not expect my car to catch fire but I still carry a fire extinguisher.

I do not expect to have a heart attack but I still carry health insurance.

I do not expect to have a traffic accident but I still carry car insurance.

I do not expect to drop dead any time soon but I still carry life insurance.

I am prepared. Not afraid. Prepared. :)

Anger me all you want. A responsible gun owner does not respond emotionally to provocation. :)

Oops! I was unaware. By your logic, the safest place to be is living in the middle of a battlefield. Judging by the gun crime stats for America, you may be doing just that.

But it's your country not mine. I shall back off and leave you to your 'toys' (your description, not mine).

If I had to choose between living in the US and living in England, I would choose the US. England is much too violent for me. The UK has a violent crime rate almost 5 times higher than the US.

I can't help but think your logic is seriously flawed. Having been in a battlefield I can attest that living in the US is not even remotely similar to a battlefield.

In fact we have the 2nd amendment to prevent the US from turning into a battlefield. The purpose of the 2nd amendment is so that we can protect ourselves and our loved ones from violent criminals so that crime is kept under control and does not rise to the terrible levels as we see in the UK.

The 2nd amendment also gives us the ability to defend our society and country from enemies both foreign and domestic.

There is some question as to the validity of the quotation, but Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto has been reported as saying, "You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

He may not have said exactly that, but if he did he would have been right. It has been estimated there are 30,000,000 gun owners in the US, owning 270,000,000 guns. If just half of us stood against an enemy we would be the largest army in the world with 15,000,000 willing members, most of whom are military veterans, and virtually all are trained and practice basic shooting skills on a regular basis.

There are currently 2,500,000 persons in our military including active duty, reserve, and National Guard units. In other words there are 6 times as many gun owners ready and able to defend our country than there are military personal. :)

To those who wa.t to say you are "safe in Christ," what makes you think so? From my experience, I have no confidence at all that He will do one thing for my safety.

If you were not afraid, you'd not be packing. You would not mind dying, because like Paul said, "To die is gain!" I say, your weapons show you are ready to protect yourself, which means you have a fear of being killed! It goes back to the basic instinct of "fight or flight!" We all have it, and you have chosen, to fight! http://cmhc.utexas.edu/stressrecess/Level_One/fof.html In other words, your firepower is a basic instinct to survive! And that indicates to me, maybe not to you (because you are in denial) , that you are not all that ready to go to heaven! You still have a strong desire to live. What is wrong with that? Why can't you admit that, Tom?!

That isn't a bad thing, but it is appears, like with so many other issues you and I have disagreed on, you are not willing to be honest! STILL, I applaud your readiness to stave off being killed by a murderous thug or group of terrorists!

Close the borders with Mexico and Canada? How?
Cancel ALL visas? And then watch the rest of the world do the same to the US? Hows that going to pan out for tourism and business? How will that affect the economy? Does she really think we can go from a global economy to an 'America Firster' economy without devastating results?

Now THAT is irrational fear talking.
