Think of it this way. You are sitting at a table. The table represents eternity. On the table lies a yard stick. The yard stick represents time. As eternity completely surrounds time, there is no point in time that is not reachable in eternity. And thus there is no correlation between "before" and "after" as it relates to time, and eternity.
You, sitting on the chair, can see all of time (the yard stick) simultaneously. You can touch any point in time from where you are in eternity. There is no "before" or "after." Only the eternal "now."
