The only good thing IMO about this election is that we are rid of our emperor.

Zaac, it seems everyone is acting crazy and things are really bad for all parties.

That means we the sheeple lose no matter what.

Right, so what else is new?

I only hope that he stays gone and doesn't re-appear at the UN, or some other position where he can become emperor of the world

I wish there were a candidate who wanted to kick the UN out! We give them all that money to treat us like the red headed step-child. No more. Move it to Canada or Mogadishu and see how they like it.

    Umm...no.

"21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's." -St. Matthew 22:21.

    Mandatory voting is not mentioned.

Oh, I am not angry so once again you miss the point.

Still waiting for you to explain how I applied render unto Caesar wrong, since it is standard Protestant and Catholic thinking that it means along these lines:

"Jesus says we can’t have it both ways–if we benefit from secular society, we need to support the infrastructure of society. This can take the form of taxes, military service, jury duty, and informed, conscientious voting."

Naah. It's pretty much you who is missing the point. And that would explain your errant use of the Scripture.

Oh please show me where Jesus says this? You're just trying to twist Scripture so that the point you were trying to make will be valid. That Scripture has nothing to do with voting. How on earth would you render voting unto Caesar?

As the source defined the point, it is standard conservative theology and nothing new. You are wrong to say that the idea is mine:

In the Gospels Jesus compels his disciples to render to Caesar what is Caesar's. Meaning that Christians are obligated to participate in the function of civil government and life under the law as long as it does not violate the terms, principles, or instruction of scripture. To be sure, rendering to Caesar in our nation includes paying our taxes, but it means a good deal more as well.

Since Caesar in modern day America is you and me, then we are to play our part in the role of government faithfully. The very minimum of what that includes is the requirement to vote. To not exercise this simple obligation is to, by act and deed, NOT render to Caesar as Christ instructed

Standard conservative theology would have dealt with the words contextually as they apply to all of Scripture and maintaining ITS integrity as a whole.

The idea WAS yours. Did someone else type that"Caesar requires citizens to vote in elections"?

There's a difference between paying taxes and giving back to the government money that they printed, and requiring someone to vote

Ummm, no. The principle has not changed. The government ( as represented by Caesar) is still the government that leads respective nations today. And our Caesar DOES NOT require that we vote.

You don't even know what you're saying. The government is still the government. Unless you're working for the government as its representative, then you are NOT Caesar.

A bunch of hooey. Where again does the government require us to vote?

And you and anyone who says that are still 100%, INCORRECT.
