Illegal immigrants

Trump wants to deport the millions of illegal immigrants which is a good idea. This will mess up the economy in some areas but will ultimately create more jobs for legal citizens. Some of these jobs like fast food and such are hard to replace due to their low wages and some fast food places in some areas will go out of business. Well we can live with less fast food as many Americans are obese anyways. So what say you about all this? Is Trump on to something? I am all for most of his policies including building the wall and his policies on muslims but those are other topics.

Actually, with less workers for fast food - employer will pay higher wages for long term and productive employees! And they will be more willing to negotiate with good employees if they hint they might go elsewhere.

Then if that employer will not give a good pay raise - the employee will have a good selection of business to chose from; once he has established a good work ethic.

So we may actually see $15 an hour fast food jobs? This may or will increase the costs or it may not considering that fast food companies make millions a year.

But that $15 will be the employers choice - NOT forced by the goverment.
Some may still only offer $8 - but they will have low level employees -
but with a burger costing only a buck -

Sure the restaurant with good employees - may have to raise that burger up to a buck 75

Bottom line -
Leave it up to the consumer whether he wants poor service for a 99 cent burger
or be willing to pay 1.75 for good service.

I like doing a much better job at enforcing the border, but I’m not sold on the wall concept. It just doesn’t seem freezable to me.

This is what I worry about, Evan. When things heat up people tend to behave ungodly. I wonder how many will view those illegal immigrants as people who are trying to feed their families and just survive….as people. I am not saying to keep them here, they certainly need to be deported. But too often these types of issues and debates tend to dehumanize people.

Give them a chance to become legal before they are deported.

What's your issue with the wall?

I think that if they are here illegally then they need to be deported and come back legally or not at all.

The wall itself just doesn't make very much sense to me.

$15 an hour fast food jobs may not raise the price of food?

Deporting 11 million illegals might affect the economy?

Well deporting 11 million illegal immigrants will affect the economy and I made that clear. What's your beef with it?

I believe that the saying is "Where's the beef?"

Trump wants to and will deport the criminal illegal aliens and secure the border - and "then figure out what to do with all the illegal immigrants". This could be anything from legal work status to possibly a path to citizenship which is likely to be more favorably considered AFTER the open border is protected. It is not a good idea to deport the millions immigrants - do YOU KNOW ANY Illegal Immigrant families here? Are YOU willing to see these families ripped apart and people be sent to Mexico that have been here since they were 2 years old and don't even speak fluent Spanish? I guarantee you Trump has no intention to deport millions and if you think differently that would be because you've listened to liberal twisted lies.

Then I stand corrected on this one. Say who did you vote for?

How long have you lived on the border and witnessed illegal crossing of the border?

I live in the county with the greatest number of illegals entering the country. The existing fence only extends about a mile on each side of the border crossings.

The wall will greatly reduce the number of illegals coming into Hidalgo County, just as it has in the other places where it has been completed. Granted, building it here is more difficult due to the border being in the middle of the Rio Grande, and the protected wetlands on our side of the border, but it will stop a lot of crime here, and protect a lot of people, including those trying to cross.

I'm not saying I oppose a wall or that preventing illegal immigration doesn't make sense to me. It's the wall itself. I just can't picture it, or what I do picture would be a maintenance nightmare and wouldn't really work. So I like the idea but am not sure about the wall.
