So I like the idea but am not sure about the wall.

The 700+ miles that is already there is doing a great job.

How long have you lived on the border and witnessed illegal crossing of the border?

I live in the county with the greatest number of illegals entering the country. The existing fence only extends about a mile on each side of the border crossings.

The wall will greatly reduce the number of illegals coming into Hidalgo County, just as it has in the other places where it has been completed. Granted, building it here is more difficult due to the border being in the middle of the Rio Grande, and the protected wetlands on our side of the border, but it will stop a lot of crime here, and protect a lot of people, including those trying to cross.

In instances like that, beefing up border security in those kind of areas would also be wise and prudent.

I'm not familiar with the area enough to evaluate the thing. I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to me.

Trump wants to deport the millions of illegal immigrants which is a good idea. This will mess up the economy in some areas but will ultimately create more jobs for legal citizens. Some of these jobs like fast food and such are hard to replace due to their low wages and some fast food places in some areas will go out of business. Well we can live with less fast food as many Americans are obese anyways. So what say you about all this? Is Trump on to something? I am all for most of his policies including building the wall and his policies on muslims but those are other topics.

I find it odd that someone who calls himself an evangelist is applauding attempts to drive away those God has brought to his doorstep to minister.

Trump is not going to implement anything. Taxes, and tax rates, are the purview of the House of Representatives.

As a builder myself who strives for excellence I know such a project would be something I would want to feel real good about when it was done. I'll predict this project will be yuge...

Crabby, have you ever seen the wall at Checkpoint Charlie? I would tend to think that the gates of the Mexican border are much more accessible than it was in West Berlin.

I find it odd that someone that claims to have taught at the seminary level would be encouraging illegal immigration.
