Depends, the Holy Spirit is the only requirement for the calling to salvation.

I don't use Catholic Chick Tracts and besides as I have said many many many many times here tracts are only useful for people that do not have time to talk with you.

Agreed. There is such a negative attitude on this board towards tracts it's getting absurd.

    Not from me evan, never.

Psalm 68:11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

Nope. She never understood God's love - just His judgment. She knew she was a sinner and was repentant but never got the idea that God loved her and sent His Son to die for her salvation. She went to communion. She went to confession regularly. She did all that she had to do but still never felt that God loved her. Once she understood that, it was amazing. That woman loved the Lord and served Him until she died. She was the most incredible evangelist I've ever seen. :)

She could have easilygotten it from Franciscan doctrine that teaches God's love and the HS regeneration, they call it transformation. But the normal walking around Catholic generally never goes there...I know I did not. Aquinas, Francis, Bonaventure all take you deep and teach you to find God in your life and in the least of your brethren. And they are really evangelistic.

Francis had a deep transformative experience that caused him to change his life but he chose Not To leave the dominant church of the time, but he certainly was going to change (CHANGE) it by laying down his life for the least......by emulating Christ's love and I for one am impressed by his example. :)

Ya, It happened to me, but it was while I was reading the Gospel of John.
    The light came on.
I went back to the RCC because I was yet a babe in Christ.

After about two years I left the Catholic church never to return except to go to a wedding or funeral.
I floundered around for another year or so and my wife (former Mormon) and I ended up in Baptist churches.
We were baptized together at Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston 1966.

I don't know. But isn't handing a tract to some one an act of taking a small (true very small) interest in them?

In the days of my youth in witnessing in public areas with tracts a conversation would sometimes ensue.

One that I remember well was a Harvard Divinity student. He laughed when he read the tract and was amazed that we believed the fundamentals of the faith particularly the virgin birth. He called us a "phenomena".

We discussed the word "almah" of Isaiah 7:14 and was surprised I knew the passage arguments.

I invited him to our church service and he came on occasion.
He would make a hasty exit from the backsliders pew right at the end of the service.
Presumably he graduated - after a while he didn't show up anymore.

    His destiny? God knew/knows.

It is, but that also can be seen as not really wanting to engage the other persom, more like a dump and run and saying to God, I donemy duty to witness!

God want to work thu our relationships more, that is all..

Yes, but I NEVER felt like it was "my duty" Y.

I always tried to make eye contact and if they stood there in the park and read the tract I would ask a question like "Is Jesus Christ your savior? or "who do you think Christ is?", etc...

Also there was almost always an open air preach sermon going on and some of us would canvass the crowd and talk with selected individuals.

Go back and read my previous post. I added to it.

Yeshua does not understand that most of the time people do not want to talk or are too busy but may read a tract and why they are useful. In DT Denver most are going to and fro and so a tract is the best way to witness to them. However in others areas where people have time to chat obviously a personal conversation is the best way to witness.
