My Pastor and half our Baptist church were ex Catholics, so God reached them by friends/family, not hanging chick tracts on them!
OK but some Catholics have probably been affected by Chick tracts.
I have never used them myself but who knows. Only God.

Not from me evan, never.Agreed. There is such a negative attitude on this board towards tracts it's getting absurd.

Psalm 68:11 The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.

She could have easilygotten it from Franciscan doctrine that teaches God's love and the HS regeneration, they call it transformation. But the normal walking around Catholic generally never goes there...I know I did not. Aquinas, Francis, Bonaventure all take you deep and teach you to find God in your life and in the least of your brethren. And they are really evangelistic.Nope. She never understood God's love - just His judgment. She knew she was a sinner and was repentant but never got the idea that God loved her and sent His Son to die for her salvation. She went to communion. She went to confession regularly. She did all that she had to do but still never felt that God loved her. Once she understood that, it was amazing. That woman loved the Lord and served Him until she died. She was the most incredible evangelist I've ever seen.
what are you implying Hank....No denominational churches, no sacraments, that the Kingdom is an inside job!!??!! Now that is radical!Depends, the Holy Spirit is the only requirement for the calling to salvation.

Ya, It happened to me, but it was while I was reading the Gospel of John.
The light came on.
I went back to the RCC because I was yet a babe in Christ.
After about two years I left the Catholic church never to return except to go to a wedding or funeral.
I floundered around for another year or so and my wife (former Mormon) and I ended up in Baptist churches.
We were baptized together at Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston 1966.

Thanks evanIf I could like this post from my iPhone I would.
True, but think that many more hve been won over by someone taking a personal interest in them for God!OK but some Catholics have probably been affected by Chick tracts.

Not a negative view, but thinking tha much better to be friends with someone and have yourlife and words and deeds witness to them!Agreed. There is such a negative attitude on this board towards tracts it's getting absurd.
He did not mention useing the Law, that is really rad!what are you implying Hank....No denominational churches, no sacraments, that the Kingdom is an inside job!!??!! Now that is radical!
I don't know. But isn't handing a tract to some one an act of taking a small (true very small) interest in them?True, but think that many more hve been won over by someone taking a personal interest in them for God!
It is, but that also can be seen as not really wanting to engage the other persom, more like a dump and run and saying to God, I donemy duty to witness!I don't know. But isn't handing a tract to some one an act of taking a small (true very small) interest in them?

Yes, but I NEVER felt like it was "my duty" Y.It is, but that also can be seen as not really wanting to engage the other persom, more like a dump and run and saying to God, I donemy duty to witness!
God want to work thu our relationships more, that is all..
I agree with on how you handles this, as was not done invisbilble asis, just was saying sometimes take easier road of just leaving track on table or on car window!Yes, but I NEVER felt like it was "my duty" Y.
I always tried to make eye contact and if they stood there in the park and read the tract I would ask a question like "Is Jesus Christ your savior? or "who do you think Christ is?", etc...
Also there was almost always an open air preach sermon going on and some of us would canvass the crowd and talk with selected individuals.
Go back and read my previous post. I added to it.
HankD
