Meanwhile, what is this "lie on purpose" junk? To lie is to tell an untruth with intent to deceive. So it's always 'on purpose.' To say something you believe which proves to be not so; to declare you will do something you intend to do, but then don't; to exaggerate when your 'evaluation' is reasonably hopeful...
