I only do have one Study Bible.
It is a NKJV Thompson Chain Reference Study Bible in real leather. It was selling off cheap at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London a few years back. I don't really like study Bibles inasmuch as I'd sooner use a concordance and/or a commentary. I quite like this one because
    a. It's in my favourite translation.
    b. It makes it easy to trace themes through the Bible.
However, I still don't use it as much as I probably should. There are features like the 'Analyses of Books' which I never go to because these things are available in more detail elsewhere.

Really good choice, as that vrsion really has limitednotes, andte scripture itself in he chain referencing is its own commentary!
I just might pick one up in the Esv when it comes out...

That is a tough question. But i would go with the ESV study Bible. It has great notes and the articles in the back on Christian ethics, doctrine and History of the transmission & origin Scripture, and other world religions are fantastic. Sufficient cross references as well.

Holman or LEB/Faithlife, don't make me choose. :Frown

    :Biggrin

Probably the LEB, since I haven't had it as long. Need a dead tree version, though.

I use the 1560 edition of the Geneva Bible.
Because it doesn't have the usual miscellaneous miswording in various verses to somewhat put doubt on scriptural veracity. Accuracy is the key in scripture, when it comes to witnessing to the lost - especially to the "knowledgeable" lost.
Most of them believe salvation comes in liquid form, and the 1560 tears down that belief like no other Bible - even over the KJB.
The gloss has thousands of notes from men of God, and how they believed the scriptures taught.
Even includes the historical books making it a complete study Bible.

That would be a great choice, or the Zondervan Niv study bible, pretty much alike, different version!
I should have bought the Nas with the Niv study bible, when as avaiable!

I use the facsimile put out by Hendrickson Publishers in 2007.
It is an exact reproduction of the original with all the notes of the reformers who translated and published it then. No modern notes. But they are amazing.

You not tracking the Lexham English Bible?

It seems to have a fair sized following here.

The notes in the 1599 are more expanded and Calvinistic. I have the Tolle Lege 1599, so they basically update the language to modern fonts and spelling. The same thing that happened to the KJV 1611. The Telle Lege Geneva 1599 is nore easily read than the Hendrickson 1560 Geneva.
