Wondering why Trump thought duplicating Obama's list of countries was good enough. Wondering why Trump supporters are defending it.

Actually I see Trump as twice stupid. 1...implementing an executive order that was incomplete. (2) chose BO list.

Well, had Obama carried through with his "Red Line in the sand" threat perhaps we would not have this present fiasco (notice I underlined "perhaps").

    Even Kerry understood this.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/kerr...yria-red-line-cost-the-us-in-mid-east-2016-12

Of course Kerry evoked the Alinsky doctrine of blame-shifting and said that actually Obama did want to bomb Assad, Kerry said, but he wanted to get approval from Congress first (I've decided to be kind - no comment)

Any why did he leave Saudi Arabia off the list? That is where almost all the 9/11 bombers came from. Could it be because Trump has business interests in Saudia Arabia?

Mohamed Atta - Egypt, tactical leader of 9/11 plot and pilot
Abdul Aziz al Omari -Saudi Arabia
Wail al Shehri - Saudi Arabia
Waleed al Shehri - Saudi Arabia
Satam al Suqami - Saudi Arabia

Fayez Banihammad - United Arab Emirates
Ahmed al Ghamdi - Saudi Arabia
Hamza al Ghamdi - Saudi Arabia
Marwan al Shehhi - United Arab Emirates, pilot
Mohand al Shehri - Saudi Arabia
    American Airlines Flight 77
Hani Hanjour - Saudi Arabia, pilot
Nawaf al Hazmi - Saudi Arabia
Salem al Hazmi - Saudi Arabia
Khalid al Mihdhar - Saudi Arabia
    Majed Moqed - Saudi Arabia
    United Airlines Flight 93
Saeed al Ghamdi - Saudi Arabia

Once again, Trump ran on fixing the mistakes that Obama made--the Iran deal, ObamaCare, his EXECUTIVE ORDERS, etc.--so why doesn't he fix this gross oversight?

Why didn't he add Saudi Arabia? Is it because of his business interests there? It was Saudi terrorists who cost thousands of American lives in NYC on 9/11.

I will have to admit that it is quite possible concerning his interests there (more than just business) he has given them a break.

Also in deference perhaps to the very close social relationship of the Bush dynasty with the Saudi royal family.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Bush,_House_of_Saud

There is also talk of a deal with Saudi royalty to confront Iran per a lengthy phone conversation therefore he left them off the list.
    http://www.alternet.org/news-amp-politics/trump-saudi-king-phone-call-collaboration-iran-syria-yemen

While it is true that we have a much better relationship with Saudi Arabia that some other Islamic countries, personally I would like a more detailed explanation from the Trump administration as to the absence of Saudi Arabia from "the list".

"Malevolence Tempered by Incompetence" is just another example of the left wingers stirring up anger at the new administration.

Pres. Trump announced his actions regarding the temporary refugee freeze. He didn't try to hide it from anyone, and campaigned on this very issue. In contrast, look at the Obama six month freeze of 2011. Regardless of who he may or may not have consulted, the general public was not even informed of the freeze until two years later.

    - LINK
    ABC News
    Nov. 20, 2013
"As a result of the Kentucky case, the State Department stopped processing Iraq refugees for six months in 2011, federal officials told ABC News – even for many who had heroically helped U.S. forces as interpreters and intelligence assets."

That explains why there were no protests in 2011. That, plus it was Obama's policy, so the press and Hollywood were fine it with it.

Still IMO, the general public needs to hear a reasonable explanation at least from Spicer to the question "why is Saudi Arabia not on the list"? Yes they are our allies - the Saudi Royal family gets special treatment from the US.

However anyone who has any news sense knows that 9-1-1 was perpetrated by Saudi citizens (for the most part).

If I were a President Trump counselor I would suggest a Spicer comment on the daily briefing.

OK he still gets an A+.

    Sure.

We bomb enemy combatants inside allied countries all the time. We bombed Kuwait in the first Gulf War, the VC inside South Vietnam, the Germans on French soil, etc.

Is Iraq an ally, yes or no?
