Why? You've already, in your head, decided that anything I say is just "spin". You've made up your mind and it is staying with Calvin. But Calvin is not your Savior. I suggest cutting out the middle man, Calvin, and go direct to inspiration.

Here's the thing...you believe that God's Spirit is irresistible and that ultimately God's will is going to be accomplished in you no matter what. IF that's the case then why do you still sin? Clearly God's will is for us not to sin, yet all of us sin. Sounds like free-will to me....

    Hebrews 6

4For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,5and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,6andthenhave fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.7For ground that drinks the rain which often falls on it and brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God;8but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned.

And now for my spin on this passage....... And there you have it. AMEN!

Gal 1:1 Paul, an apostle—sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead— 2 and all the brothers and sisters with me, To the churches in Galatia:

3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, 5 to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

To whom is Paul writing? Believers. IT's very clear. What's his warning?

verse 8 But even if we (i.e., we believers) or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!

3:10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because "the just by faith shall live"

5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free (free from under "the cruse of the law"). Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of bondage.

2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised (as a means of savlation - see Acts 15:1,5), Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law.

4 You (believers in the Gatain church) who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace

Okay, so you believe the atonement is limited. Fine. That is good to know.

Who is Paul writing to? The Roman believers. When were they "reconciled to God"? When they were unconverted and hated God. They were reconciled when Christ died.

The unconverted, fallen human race was reconciled to God "in Christ". That's the gospel.

Limited atonement is a lie from the father of lies.

Ignoring the above doesn't speak well for you die-hard Calvinists. In fact your silence speaks volumes! Your silence proves that your position is wrong...very wrong.

...according to AndThisGospel it's limited only to those who don't blind themselves at a later date...but the folks who poke out their eyes have no chance at atonement...unless...the choose at a later time to have God give them an eye transplant so they can see again...but of course those folks could then gouge out the transplants...which removes the atonement again...but...ad nauseum...

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him

So the world does not mean all sinners?

Saved? From what? The curse of the law - i.e., 2nd death.

Yes, our condemnation "in Adam" has been reversed.

"So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men."

God does not hold us accountable for being born into a fallen, sinful race because of the cross of Christ. Therefore all who die in ignorance will be raised in the resurrection of the just. This includes those who have died before the age of accountability.

To understand this one must know the difference between Christ's justification of us in Himself and justification by faith.

I'm not crazy about Catholicism, however, I think I would rather be a Catholic than a Calvinist.
