Was I stern with this apostate teacher?

I am honestly still hung up on the Gremlin part. I can't take the letter seriously because all I can think about is the Gremlin throwing popcorn.

Yeah, well, you're somewhat new around here so you missed the whole "Go chase a rabbit" era.

I cant take it seriously because well......its not something to take seriously. Who is he to write such letters? Why should anyone take him seriously on these kinds of things. Doing this shows a severe lack of judgment.

What was his heresy then? And why not a face to face with him? And do you see yourself gifted to be a heresy hunter than?

The best post of this thread. This guy I wrote 3 times but most apostates I write 1-2 times.

He pastors a very large church belonging to one of the cults.

Thanks for the compliment. Don't waste any more of your time on him unless he is responding to you. He is a lost soul for whom Christ endured death upon the cross but
Luke 10:2 (KJV) Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly [is] great, but the labourers [are] few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Have not heard a peep back from him. I have so many to write or have written so many. Many cults, apostates, government officials, actors, personal friends, relatives and the like.

The problem here is that God does not bless an apostate ministry but works through the Church as a local expression of the body of Christ. Anything else demeans the Church and by so doing Christ who is its Head.

We cannot apply Scripture and commands given to God's people to individual humanistic endeavors.

I wrote to an "evangelist" also, urging him to seek God and follow Christ rather than men. It's been a couple of months and I haven't heard a peep. I know how you feel.

I decided to "leave him to Satan", so to speak. He goes to church and even had a "Christian" website at one time, so he has been exposed to the gospel. I pray God gives him understanding because despite his zeal he seems to be walking in darkness and may do more harm than good with his "evangelism".

We do what we can and leave the impossible to God for with Him all things are possible.

That reminds me - I decided not to close my pool this year. I live in Tennessee. If I keep the pump on will it be OK?

You should never completely shut a pool down.

Depends on a few things. Should you drain the pool:

    Above ground pool - yes.

If no freeze stat to automatically turn on pump and heater if temp goes below 35 degrees - yes

    No pool cover - yes.

If it is in ground, pipes above ground heat traced, automatic pump and heater on freeze ‘stat, and covered, then you should be ok.

If you close the pool - how will Evan be able to come to your house and baptize all his converts?

    John,

One of the important things I learned from my grandmother was that when people are pushed, these people push back.

Scare tactics leave most people unafraid. For them hell is abstract. Even a good many Christians are confused regarding hell.

I personally think that people who are shouting at me are morons who are without any semblance of love.
Then, there is this Bible admonition:

    Mark 12:30-31New International Version (NIV)

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Perhaps I'm late to the issue. But Jesus didn't yell at people except for the money changers. It wasn't about salvation.

We should be a beacon of light to all.

BTW, name calling is a sin.
