OK, I'll have to elaborate a bit. Government giving to the poor is devoid of eternal value. Government does not love. It is a thing. It can't have pity. People can love. When a person gives to the poor, it is of eternal value, because it is being done for love of God. God would rather have the love of His people than to preserve the temporal lives of the poor!
When the church does charitable work, it comes with the love of God. And the recipients are compelled to have gratitude. The poor are taught Christian principles, which lift them out of poverty. The love of the givers also enables the poverty-stricken to have hope.
Poverty is God's way of teaching sinners how to behave! To lift people from poverty without them learning God's intended lesson, condemns them to hell! That is of Satan!
Now, what is a hypocrite. It's an actor. It is someone who acts with concealed motivations. A hypocrite is not a hypocrite simply because he speaks out against sin but commits sin himself. A hypocrite as Jesus referred to it is someone who acts holy but inside has no reverence for God, being only concerned with themselves, and placing burdens on others.
Right and left have long symbolized good and evil. Leonardo da Vinci required a dispensation from the Bishop to be admitted into art school, because he painted using the hand of the devil, his left hand. So, I think it is fair to assume the right is the side of good, and the left is the side of evil. Latin, sinestre, from which the English sinister is derived, means "left".
Rich people are not evil simply because they're rich. The Bible says, "God decides who will be rich and who will be poor." In fact, the right is content to have God decide everything, and to have government protect the rights of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness for all people equally.
But part of that is: the fruits of a man's labor shall be called "his own". If a person earns money, he has the right to do with it as he pleases, save a small sum for taxes. God never intended a tax burden like we have today! It's obscene in God's eyes, because it is unjust!
The government has taken the place of God to many people, where government policy has become the new definition of right and wrong. The people have adopted the minimum legal requirement as the ideal standard of conduct. The new morality is defined after the fact by whether or not you get caught! And to those who observe statutory law as the absolute moral standard shall come eternal damnation, because the government does not offer forgiveness of sin.
Jesus said, "Give to the poor, and to widows and orphans." He did not say, use your vote to put into political office those who would enact regulations to tax the people and give the money to the poor.
All I can say is, if a person subscribes to a leftist ideology, they do not know God, because to know God is to know truth. What was truth is truth now, and it always will be truth! There is one truth! Everything else is wrong!
Therefore, government policy and court findings contrary to Roman Catholic doctrine are also wrong! It's no secret that all Christians believe 99.99999% of Roman Catholic doctrine. It's a useful resource to determine exactly what truth is. Part of Roman Catholic doctrine is the Bible. The remainder is based on the Bible.
I'm not Catholic, but I have read much Catholic doctrine, and I've learned a lot. All of the ideas we take for granted are straight out of Catholic doctrine: the free-market economy, the rational practice of medicine, universities, giving to the poor, hospitals, the seven-note musical scale, the holy Bible, trials based on rational, physical evidence and decided by juries, scientific method (theories based purely on experimental evidence).
Now, after the Church has built Western civilization, why do dems turn against the important parts of Catholic teaching. The leftist political ideology is anti-Christian; it is of the devil! The reason people subscribe to it is because, if you're not of God, you're of the devil.
Those who belong to Satan may appear normal--not possessed or anything--but they do not know God. Therefore, they do not truly know salvation. If they did, they would know the truth. Satan is perfectly happy to have people blindly stumble into hell, simply out of ignorance rather than wickedness.
But every vote for a pro-choice political candidate is a serious sin that can bring death. Every vote for a candidate who favors taxation as a remedy to poverty is a serious sin in God's eyes, because sin created poverty, and only God can fix it! It isn't the job of government to legalize murder, redefine justice, plunder one group to support another, invent rights that really are not rights, stigmatize the very race that single-handedly brought industrialized civilization to the world, decide who deserves what, redistribute wealth, etc.
It is the job of government to protect the right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, equally, for all. That means each man is free to choose the life that seems best for himself, based on his resources, abilities, drive, virtue, desires, etc.
That does not mean; everyone should have exactly the same as everyone else. People are rewarded for righteous decisions, righteous living, practicing Christianity, and fleeing from evil. It isn't the job of government to subsidize sin. In every instance of a family that has remained in poverty for two generations of more, sin is the determining factor.
Fornication is the number-one cause of poverty. If girls stop fornicating, they will not end up in poverty. The Church forbids fornication exactly because it causes poverty. Following in close second place is drunkenness and drug abuse. The Bible also warns against that, because it causes poverty and death!
Medical care is not a right, because true rights do not require external funding. In the American system, hospitals are legally required to provide humanitarian emergency medical care until the patient is stable enough to be discharged, regardless of whether or not the person has insurance.
Routine medical care is for those who can afford it, or those who work and receive insurance. The idea that everyone receive the same level of medical care is just a sliver of communism! It is God who is the healer. If the poor cannot afford routine medical care, there are other remedies available over the counter, at a much lower cost. And God will heal those who cannot afford medical care. Universal health insurance robs God of the prayers of His people! This is from the mind of Satan!
And if a family loses their home over medical bills, they were stupid. I used to work for a team of heart surgeons when I was in high school. Every week at least one of them did at least one charity case, free! The Bible says, ask and you shall receive. I knew a man who had a $50,000 operation totally forgiven by the hospital. He simply asked.
The Church should be in charge of social welfare. If the government eliminated social-welfare programs, taxes would drop, and the people would give more to the church. The poor would learn sound Christian teaching, and that would lift them out of poverty. To have government care for the poor is straight from the mind of Satan, because it's a government subsidy on sin!
So, I would say, if to know God is to know truth, leftists do not know God.
