Why Do Arminians Pray for the Salvation of the Lost?

This misunderstanding is why you were never an arminian, nor profess the arminian position correctly.

 

Strawman, no argues that free will saves them. Calvinist accuse it but no one claims it. You need an argument to defeat where none exists.

 

Tom Cassidy has done a better job of explaining this in the past. However, I'll use Arminius' words:
“No man believes in Christ except he has been previously disposed and prepared, by preventing or preceding grace, to receive life eternal on that condition on which God wills to bestow it, according to the following passage of Scripture: “If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.” (John 7:17 )”

 

Why would a calvinist ask God to do His will since its already a done deal?

I pray for the salvation of all the lost for one simple reason. I don't have a list of all the elect. Uncle Bill may be a bit of a scoundrel now but Grace is an amazing thing.....

 

Don, Arminianism and semi-Pelagianism blur boundaries all the time. A better term to use is Synergism. Synergism teaches that man cooperates with God in salvation and will not violate the free will of the creature. It also teaches that Christ made the atonement possible for the individual, but until the individual exercises his own free will, the atonement is not efficacious for the individual.

Yes, you did. When you stated "whatever that is," you implied a denial of arminians believing in grace preceeding salvation.

The same thing that calvinists pray for: the salvation of a soul.

 

What makes the saved accept the same message the lost refuses to then?

I am a calvinist who did not get theology from Calvin, but from the scriptures, and where calvin agreed with that, he was good, but in some areas he was dead wrong!

 

What allows a sinner to accept Jesus, its his own free will decision per non calvinism, correct?
