Yet another utterly false claim with no scripture in support. We love God because He first loved us. But does that verse say anything about our love being conditioned on being chosen for salvation? Nope. On and on he posts, falsehood after falsehood accomplishing obfuscation and not edification.

So jesus lied to us when he stated that he chose the Apostles first?

It is not only by context that the truth of Scripture is determined, but by comparing Scripture with Scripture, which is what I did. The devil can say, 'It is written,' but the Lord Jesus replies, 'It is written again' (Matthew 4:6-7).
But the context of John 6:37 is believing, which is equated with coming. "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and He who believes in Me shall never thirst' (v.35). To come to Christ is to believe or trust in Him for salvation and so it is in v.37.

What references, please provide a quote. None will be forthcoming. On and on he posts, one falsehood after another.

The context of John 6:37 absolutely requires that come to Me refers to being transferred into Christ. There are dozens of "come to Me" phrase usages referring to change of location. In verse 35 how do they consume the bread of life from afar? They don't. Therefore the very verse used demonstrates change of location is in view as the meaning of the phrase.

Well, this thread is going to be closed in a few hours. I stopped participating about halfway through went it took a left turn at Albuquerque on its way to Pismo Beach and all the clams we can eat. I still hold to my use of the terms Monergist and Synergist because they are absolutely accurate in describing the two dominant views. I am not offended in the least by those who disagree with me, as they are entitled to their opinion as I am to mine. Thank you to all for a spirited discussion.

It was a nice try, and well-meant. You tried to make a way for us to have a rational discussion, but the presuppositions held by most synergists cause them to go insane at the idea of God's sovereignty in election, so there can be no reasonable discussion.
