This is in answer to an off OP from another thread:
In all honesty, using anything at all (contraception, birth control, sterilization) would be considered pro choice. As if any of us "should" have the "choice" to tell God he is not welcome (in the only moments two may become one as procreators). The real pro choice battle was Won by satan when Christians decided "they" had a "choice". The battle was lost when birth control was accepted by "Christians". When procreation is a choice, so is the right to life.... wikipedia contraceptives, and read the quick decline in the value of life.....

    and my answer:
I see nothing wrong with most contraceptives- ie ones that prevent conception.
Now the "morning-after" pill up to and including abortion is not a proper contraceptive.

    Barrier methods only?

I'm asking because the daily birth control pill, implants, Depo-Provera (injection) and the "morning after" pills are all the same hormones in different doses.

Does everyone understand that the U.S. abortion rate has been declining for some time? This is because of increased use of contraception. So if argue for reducing the availability of contraception you are arguing for increased abortion.

Between 2008 and 2014, the overall U.S. abortion rate declined by 25%, from 19.4 to 14.6 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15–44. Key data points that may help explain this decline, including trends in unintended pregnancy, are not yet available for this time period. However, the available information suggests that improvements in contraceptive use—particularly among women aged 20–24, who account for one-third of unintended pregnancies in the United States—were an important driver behind the decline. Abortion rates declined among all demographic groups from 2008–2014, but the declines varied widely by group.

    False dilemma fallacy.

Can I give it a try?

Does everyone understand that the U.S. obesity rate had been increasing for some time? This is because of the increased use of corn syrup in foods. So if you argue for reducing the use of corn syrup in food you are arguing for the increased use of sugar.

I mean, they seem to think that individuals CANNOT keep their pants zipped or legs crossed!

Why did the abortion rate decrease by 25% during the Obama Presidency? Because of corn syrup in foods?

I'll go along with your theory that it was mostly because of contraceptives. Still, that doesn't mean if you are against the use of contraceptives that you are pro-abortion. That's what I mean by a false dilemma.

The false dilemma I'm referring to is the idea that if you are against contraceptives you are pro-abortion.

The other option for the decrease in abortions is that people are abstaining from sex. Or perhaps they were going full term and having the child. What other options are there?

I'm told here all the time because I support improving Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Obamacare and against unrestricted gun laws favoring banning semi-automatic weapons, I am pro-abortion. These have nothing to do with abortion. Contraception does. While I agree my argument is not the best it still has a lot of truth to it.

Great! So if we elect another Democratic president abortion can continue to go down. Actually, there's a lot of truth to that. Abortion has gone down more under Democratic presidents than under Republican presidents since Roe vs. Wade.

......and 25% under Obama. The abortion rate is now below where it was right after Roe vs. Wade was passed by a Republican Supreme Court.

Generally folks will accept all those issues you listed as acceptable.

That is the reason, I do not believe anyone who says they agree with their candidate 100% - Trump, Clinton, ect.

But connected: as access to the former decreases, demand for the latter increases
