    Being infilled by the Holy Spirit is a promise from the father that has come at our salvation.

    Remaining abiding in Jesus Christ by not sowing to the works of the flesh but sowing to the fruits of the Spirit is not about filling yourself up with the Holy Ghost. You are always filled with the Holy Ghost so that you have power to sow to the fruits of the Spirit & NOT to the works of the flesh. Those who sow to the works of the flesh still have power to repent; no more infilling of the Holy Spirit is needed, but a call to Jesus Christ at that throne of grace for forgiveness and help is required for repentance.

    To not get drunk with wine wherein there is excess is to be sober, thus remain filled with the fruit of the Holy Spirit of temperance.

    It is the fruits of the Spirit we are to maintain being filled of rather than the works of the flesh; so no more infilling of the Holy Spirit apart from salvation is required as if one needs to continue to receive power to live as the sons of God apart from salvation.

    That is why we are still accountable to what we sow towards as we have power to repent when a saved believer has been sowing to the works of the flesh. There is no need to be saved again, or be born again "again" or born of the Spirit "again". There is only going before that throne of grace for help and the only way you have access is because you are Spirit-filled.

    In the
    Not to overlook that being filled with the Spirit or rather yielding ourselves to walk in Him has other results besides the "Fruit of the Spirit" Love, joy, peace ... etc

    but in preceding passages as indicated to cease from practicing the works of the flesh Galatians 5:16-21 some of which include the promotion of works of heresy

    That is certainly not to say that you HFC have heretical works - just making a point - but to see the fact that walking in the Spirit includes sound doctrine along with love, joy, peace, etc...

    Just an observation we sometimes miss. walking in the Spirit in love IMO also includes diligence in the word

    2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    To the best of our ability and resource including, if God permits, a formal education in the word.

    His views on some will miss the rapture, and that some are excluded from heaven who are really saved are dangerous doctrines to hold!

    If you do not believe "slain in the spirit" & holy laughter movement is of God, then look at the rudiment from which is being promoted for seeking to be infilled with the Holy Spirit. It is the same rudiment by which those phenomenon comes by and so no good tree can produce and evil fruit and no evil tree can produce a good fruit; therefore notion of seeking an infilling of the Holy Spirit supernaturally is of that same evil tree that bears the same evil fruit that brings about those other phenomenon.

    There is no other calling to be filled by; there is no other infilling of the Spirit to seek after so we can rest in Him as Spirit-filled to testify at any time that we are saved since we had first believed at the calling of the gospel.

    John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

    To seek a continual infilling of the Holy Spirit is to hunger and thirst for more, thus denying Jesus's promise at our salvation.

    The verb to grow is used as a post rebirth experience related to the word of God

    1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

    When there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth; stripes for not being ready, as it is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God, the terror of the Lord is to bring even former believers to go before that throne of grace for help to see the lies that turn them away from Him and to lean on Him for help to repent.

    2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

    Look at the warning from Jesus to believers to be ready, and not the cutting off to have their portions with unbelievers; as in left behind, those believers cut off are giving stripes per the measure of their knowledge for not being ready AND yet HE still calls them His servants.

    Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. 41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all? 42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. 45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. 49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

    Why do you think that God has to wipe the tears from their eyes of those saints coming out of the great tribulation? Like Esau that gave up his birthright for a meal so are they as the prodigal son that gave up his inheritance for wild living, but they are still sons. They can never be that vessel unto honor in His House; they will never be like the elder son that has all that the Father has, unlike the prodigal son; that weeping and gnashing of teeth is over the loss of that inheritance and will be a such a severe loss that God has to perform a miracle to help them get past that loss but they will continue in the joy of the Lord but as vessels unto dishonor in His House in serving the King of kings all over the world in raising up the coming millennium generation.

    To grow is hardly referring to being born again "again".

    Colossians 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.

    6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

    7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

    8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

    9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

    10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

    There aree NO passages/verses in the Bible that suppots that God will leave behind some of the saved in order to have them "get right with God", as the blood of Jesus fully justifies all who were saved by it!

    Just saying so, does not make it so. I have been providing scripture and you are not addressing His words on the matter.

    Explains what Jesus is talking about below if you believe that is not Him warning believers of the consequence for not being "ready"..

    If you can't, then pray about it. Ask for wisdom from Jesus Christ at that throne of grace, brother.

    Keep applying that faith in Him as your Good Shepherd to help you lay aside every weight & sin in running that race to abide in Him, and you shall be received as a vessel unto honor in His House to attend the Marriage Supper in Heaven.

    Where did I say that?

    The subject of Growth:

    Ephesians 4:
    14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
    15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

    2 Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

    2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

    In this passage we are "changed-Grk metamorpoo" as in a metamorphosis to His image from our earthly image "by the Spirit of the Lord".

    2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

    Your reply was read as if opposing my belief that there is no more infilling of the Spirit in the life of a believer for which you had earlier replied as below.

    And I seem to be reading the rest of your last reply as leading to that opposition.

    If you are now trying to infer that change in the life of a believer is done by this continual infilling of the Spirit, then again, those scripture do not credit such a continual filling of the Holy Spirit to be towards that effect of change in the life of a believer..

    I am not now trying to infer anything other than what I had previously said.

    We have a scripture directive to be "filled" with the Spirit.

    Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

    We have a scripture directive after our birth as newborn babes to grow;

    1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

    The two being distinct functions.

    The 2 Corinthians passage mentioned indicates that we have another kind of growth by degrees as we behold His glory
    we ourselves are changed - Grk - (metamorphoo) to reflect that image by the Spirit of the Lord.

    One of the points I was trying to achieve (I'll do it now) is that as many there are who seem to walk after the flesh, deficient in the areas of bearing the fruit of the Spirit and reflecting His image is that we have failed in either the consumption of the milk of the word, the diligence of the study thereof and/or the beholding of His Glory in the scriptures by which we grieve and quench the Spirit in our lives.

    When the first half of the verse says "Do not be drunk with wine wherein there is excess" , it is referring to a past tense condition. Also, a side note,, in wine there is excess whereby one can get drunk by; that is not so with the Holy Spirit where the verses did not say there was excess to be had, but to remain filled with the Holy Spirit as opposed to getting drunk by that excess..

    Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

    But not the same meaning nor the same topic. Ephesians 5:18 is just a call to stay sober by not getting drunk. 1 Peter 2:2 talks about newborn babes having already been born whereby at that born again of the Spirit is the same as infilled by the Spirit.

    I am not sure how there is an image of the Spirit of the Lord, nor any scripture to that testimony, but there are scripture for us to conform to the image of the Son, and that is not the same thing.

    Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

    There is a verse but it is not to how you are applying His words to mean.

    2 Corinthians 3:But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

    This image is being changed "by" the Spirit of the Lord" and not "to" the Spirit of the Lord, as the face we are to behold is the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bridegroom since we are the bride of Christ seeking His return, even in worship.

    Let us listen to His words as to where the fruits of the Spirit comes from and Whom it is that is being given the credit for those fruits of the Spirit as to Whom is working in our lives and in us.

    Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth....20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

    All power has been given specifically to the Son since His resurrection.

    Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:....11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

    That testifies to Whom is working in us and Whom the fruits of the Spirit are coming from.

    John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

    That is a testimony about how the words of the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit are from Jesus Christ in such a way that the indwelling Holy Spirit gives the Son the full credit because that is how the Spirit glorifies the Son by.

    Since the Holy Spirit seeks to glorify the Son, how can He do that except through us in worship as that is also a testimony given of Him in worship.

    John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

    So you need to listen to His words and redirect the spotlight from seeking to be infilled with the Holy Spirit to, instead, having received Christ Jesus at our salvation to walk in Him in order to grow in our reconciled relationship with God through Jesus Christ by learning of Him in His words. Growth is not done by seeking a continual filling of the Holy Spirit, but by trusting Jesus Christ to finish His work in us. That is what scripture is saying plainly.

    To give an inch towards what you are trying to preach is the same thing as preaching another spirit and thus another gospel to receive; thus no different from what those that are in error are doing in "slain in the spirit" and "holy laughter" are doing which both are not of the Lord at all.

    To seek a continual filling of the Holy Spirit is a false testimony as it bears the image of a wine bottle unable to hold the wine.

    Matthew 9:17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

    Are you listening to His words rather than just reading them? To preach a continual filling of the Holy Spirit is to preach that we are not new wine bottles able to contain the wine and thus not saved. We are always Spirit-filled as a testimony that we are saved since our salvation at the calling of the gospel of Jesus Christ when we had first believed and got saved that day.

    I hope you will explain why you believe that there is no assurance of salvation to those left behind when there is.

    Excommunication has been taught to the church to do for this purpose.

    1 Corinthians 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

    That is the warning given to the church at Thyatira if they do not repent; they will be cast into the bed of the coming great tribulation, thus left behind in being castaways.

    Revelation 2:18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; 19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. 23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. 24 But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. 25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

    I believe Jesus is referring to that other gospel of tongues where they preach seeking the baptism of the Holy Ghost with evidence of tongues apart from salvation which is committing spiritual fornication for why that tongue is coming without interpretation and thus assumed to be used for private use, uttering the depths of Satan as they speak because that kind of supernatural tongue has been in the world before Pentecost for why that can never be the real God's gift of tongues.

    Isaiah 8:1919 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

    1 Thessalonians 5:21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

    Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit

    There are NO past tenses in this passage, everything is present tense in the inspired koine Greek.
