From what you've written here you should have voted NO.

But you've the intestinal fortitude to own your vote, good for you!

It looks like you need to vote to see the results.

    .
On the old BB forum identities of voters and how they voted could be displayed, not so now. Thanks for responding Squire.

The question of the poll doesn't reflect what you're really wanting to know. The poll states, "Are people hell bound because of Adam's Transgression" Most posters I'm sure would say YES BUT what you're really asking is does that include Babies.

Yes technically babies are a part of "people" but the answer people would give would be different if it's clearly understood to mean babies or children as well.

I believe all people are hell bound because of Adam's actions but no I won't give up a belief in an age of accountability. I suppose there should be a third option on the poll....as in "DEPENDS"

No, the question is: Are people BORN hellbound due to Adam's transgression?

Tried, nothing happens. I was expecting IDENTITIES of voters, not numbers. I misinterpreted, ever know anyone else on this board that's done that? :D

I voted no because I have never believed that Baby's go to hell. I believe Lodic answered your question with a quote from 2 Samuel 12: 23 I would encourage everyone to read the whole passage.

You sure? The tally didn't change; still 3 yes, 5 no.

And yes, @Lodic answered very well.

Here is Spurgeon's take on it.
Infant Salvation | Spurgeon | Are infants Saved? - Metropolitan Tabernacle
No one is obliged to agree with this just because it's Spurgeon, but he's always worth considering.
The Biblical data is thin. It does appear that children are born in sin, but on the other hand we cry out like Abraham, "Will not the judge of all the earth do right?" Of course He will, but He will not necessarily do what we think is right.

The 1689 Confession states (10:3): Infants dying in infancy are regenerated and saved by Christ through the Spirit who works when, where and how He pleases. The Scripture references quoted are John 3:3-6 (I would have included verse 8) and 1 John 3:8.

My position is that I believe that infants are hell-bound due to Adam's transgression, but I do not believe that those who die in infancy ever arrive there. :) I have therefore not voted, but @kyredneck can advise me if he wants.

That's an oxymoronic statement. Are you a moron Martin? Double minded?

Why not? Because your stance is moronic?

    Your post is moronic.

You lack the guts to own the dogma you espouse and to vote accordingly. And it appears to be the case with other supposedly devout hardcore Calvinists on this board.

I voted yes, and I see this as not a Cal v. Armin thingy, as a previous pastor of mine, who is not a Calvinist stated, “We are born citizens of hell.” Now, if babies are born innocent, then the doctrine of Original Sin flies out the window.

When we look at the 2 Samuel 12 account, I think too many assume David’s lament as him saying his son is in heaven and he will go to be with him upon death. I see this as a father longing to go to the grave to be with his son, not that he’s saying his baby is in heaven. Remember, David also wrote Psalms 51 and Psalms 58, so if he believed his baby was in heaven, then that contradicts his other writings.

The Bible isn’t explicitly clear one way or the other about a baby’s eternal destination.

I really wish [expected] that identities would be visible when I created the poll, this confusion would be avoided and I could nail down the 'skirters' as Bro Glen pegged it.

A few questions to fuel the thread...

Will there literally be babies in the eternal state?
If yes, who will run the nursery?
    Who will change the diapers?
Who will feed and burp them?
How can babies bow their knee and declare Jesus is Lord?

I don’t believe babies that died in infancy will be infants in the eternal state.

You're getting very grumpy in your old age, KY. I have given my view. I'm sorry if you're disappointed that I don't have a different one.
