Yep, which is biblical. Christ did not die for every sin ever committed by every person. If he did then his sacrifice failed. It was not good enough.

How is that biblical? Jesus came into the world to save the world. he is the light of the world. how do you get a certain few from world? world means world. everybody.

Are you honestly saying that when we use the word world it means every single person every time?

Why not? That's what it means in everyday English. The song says "He's got the whole world in his hands", not the elect in his palm.
Hippie up man. Jesus wants to save everyone.

Except that is not what Scripture teaches. I can also prove that we do not always use the word world the same way in English every time.

Say the World Series is on and the commentator says that the eyes of the entire world are on the pitcher. Does he literally mean every single person in the world? No. Not at all.

    Think about this dude:
There are very FEW black Calvinists. If you look at the demographics, most Calvinists are middle class and upper middle class white guys. Why? Because it's a cushy, comfy theology. We're God's chosen and the others? To hell with them. Yes we witness, we send missionaries, but only to reap a forgone result.
Why are baptists so into this Presbyterian doctrine? When did the OPC take over the SBC?

Only Americans think it's ok to hold a world series and no other countries show up.

A Presbyterian doctrine? You really need to study some history, and Bible. If you can show me, from Scripture, that the doctrine's of grace are heretical I will gladly abandon them. But I guarantee you that you cannot do so.

So instead of admitting the fact that I just proved your assertion wrong, you come back with this? Do you even want to have a serious discussion?

I'm illustrating that it's a misuse of the word "world" not it's proper use which means the whole planet or all the people on it.

no, but she told me to judge them by their fruits, as Jesus did. Calvin was a bringer of death, not of life.

If the nicene fathers taught the calvinist version of "freewill" then why did the Eastern Church strongly condemn Calvinist teaching when they convened about that time? They would be going against the church fathers if they didn't.

No all you have shown is that you don't understand basic grammatical and word use principles. The fact that you ignore the reality that words can mean multiple things makes me think this conversation has been a waste of time.

I, too, would like to know where you got this number. I am not a fan of Calvin, but I don't think you are going to succeed in convincing anyone.

Yes, pointing out the evils of John Calvin and his followers is an important argument when Calvinists start leaning on how "traditional" their theology is or start calling people who believe otherwise heretics of some form or another.

But I see it as a very poor "first attack" on the theology.

    He died for ALL sin,

    Heb 9:26

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself
    Jhn 1:29

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sinof the world.

Again, world has different meanings in different uses. If the sin of the whole world is taken away, why do people go to Hell? Or do you believe in universalism? You can't have it both ways.
