Hello all

I would like to pose some questions for discussion based on the scriptures only;

1. WHERE DOES IT SAY IN GOD'S WORD ALONE THAT SUNDAY IS "THE LORDS DAY"?
2. WHAT DAY ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD IS "THE LORDS DAY"?
3. IF THERE IS NO SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS SUNDAY IS "THE LORDS DAY" ARE WE FOLLOWING GOD'S WORD OR MAN MADE TEACHNINGS AND TRADITIONS?

Scripture only please and friendly discussion.

May God bless you as you seek him through his Word.

More SDA propaganda to come. Lots of cut & paste!

Well that is not true. I have not cut and paste anything. Why do you say asking for scripture is propaganda? After all according to God's Word we are to live by the Word of God right *MATTHEW 4:4? Or do you think we should forsake God's WORD in order to follow the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God?

Do you believe that those of us here are going to hell because we attend church services on Sunday? Many 7th Day Adventists do - I'm just politely asking you if that's what you believe.

There can be all the discussion here you want - even friendly and peaceful, but you will not lead us to believe that what we are doing is sin, nor I dare say, will we convince you.

Others who keep pronouncing this or that aren't biblical are at least good for a guffaw. You posting on the internet isn't biblical. Your jeans aren't biblical. Your church's electric lights aren't biblical. Your face isn't biblical.

Generally, the only time someone should proclaim something isn't biblical is when it violates scripture. The phrase "the Lord's day" is a common Christian reference to Sunday. This usage no more needs a biblical basis than does your face. The phrase is also used to mean any day, as God has made every day.

There's a reference to the Lord's Day Revelation 1:10. The authors of the commentaries I've checked believe it to be Sunday. If it were a reference to Saturday, I expect John would have called it the Sabbath. There's no smoking gun scripture reference to prove it's Sunday, but Sunday makes the most sense.

Hi there sister Scarlet, so nice to meet you. I believe God's people are in every church living up to all the knowledge God has revealed to us through his Word. God's WORD says that the hour is coming however and now is that God's true worshippers will worship him in Spirit and in truth for God is a Spirit and those who woship him must whorship him according to his Word *JOHN 10:16; JOHN 4:23. God is calling us I believe sister where ever we may be to come out from following man made teachings that lead us away from God's Word back to the pure Word of God *REVELATION 18:1-5. Do you believe God's Word? I pray that you do and only wish you love and God's blessings.

How about Adventists hospitals and abortion clinics breaking the commandment not to murder day in and day out? Adventists doctors are slicing and dicing babies as we speak. Why doesn't that matter to you? The SDA has become pro-choice and has no plans to change. EG White was against abortion. How did it all go so wrong?

Hi Shoostie, so you do not believe God's Word? Where does it say in REVELATION 1:10 that Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY? Something is not biblical if it is not written into God's Word. Where does it say Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY"?

Sorry brother I do not know what your post has to do with the OP? I do not follow any of these things accept for the Word of God alone. Did you have any scripture to share?

Anyone whose hope in redemption is tied up in keeping any portion of the law has no hope in redemption.

Anyone whose hope in redemption is tied up in keeping any portion of the law has no hope in redemption.

Why you would suggest these things here is beyond me and does not really have anything to do with the OP but so we are clear, we are only saved only by God's GRACE alone, through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God and not by works lest any man should boast *EPHESIANS 2:8-9.

OBEDIENCE to God's Word is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD by faith. We are all sinners in need of a Saviour and God's salvation to save us from our sins. Salvation is from sin (breaking any one of God’s 10 Commandments). Salvation is not that of the false gospel of "ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED" that teaches we to continue in sin and still receive God's salvation and his promises *ROMANS 6:1-23; JOHN 8:31-36; 1 JOHN 2:1-4; 1 JOHN 3:3-10.

Those who continue in known unrepentant sin do not know God and need to be Born again into the NEW COVENANT promise to love *HEBREWS 8:10-12; ROMANS 13:8-10; JOHN 3:3-8; 1 JOHN 3:3-10. This is God's work in us and a part of the NEW COVENANT promise of a new heart to love *HEBREWS 8:10-12; PHILIPPIANS 2:13.

If our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50 and if we sin willfully after we recieve a knowledge of the truth there remains no sacrifice for sin and a fearful looking forward to of the judgment to come *HEBREWS 10:26-39.

Those who follow God do so not to be saved but because they love God *JOHN 14:15

May you receive God's Word and be blessed

Every time SDA's are called out on abortion they deflect. Adventists claim to be the sole remnant of Revelation 14:12 because they alone among the denominations still keep the entire Ten Commandments. Which means to an Adventist that they alone still keep the true Sabbath and everyone else worships on Sunday. Right?

And yet,Adventists do not keep all ten. In fact, the church is pro-choice and their hospitals do abortion-on-demand. So Adventists actually teach only that we have to keep nine of the ten. (Ignoring the "thou shalt not kill.") So the SDA church is in reality no different than any other church--just keeping nine of the ten, making us all even, right? Their pro-choice stance undermines all authority and all possibility that they are the remnant.

So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, Colossians 2:16

Anyone who engages in a judgment of others with regard to even the sabbath is living in unrepentant sin.

WRONG! We are not talking about the annual ceremonial sabbaths connected to feast days maybe that can be another good thread topic though. This thread is on where is the scripture that says SUNDAY is the "LORDS DAY"? Do you have any scriptures to share? It seems you do not as you seeking to discuss anything accept the OP topic.

What does this have to do with the OP? Please feel free to start your own thread somewhere if you wish to talk about MATTHEW 5:17 and send me a link. I love this scripture and will be happy to share with you there. Please do not change the topic to something that is not relevant to the OP.
