What prevails is the Word of God. The Word is God.
Yeah, the Word is God, He, the Word, is God.
Absolutely, I agree and you have provided none that say SUNDAY is the LORDS DAY. Does this not worry you?

Yeah, the Word is God, He, the Word, is God.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Hi Shoostie, so you do not believe God's Word? Where does it say in REVELATION 1:10 that Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY? Something is not biblical if it is not written into God's Word. Where does it say Sunday is "THE LORDS DAY"?
Hello all
I would like to pose some questions for discussion based on the scriptures only;
1. WHERE DOES IT SAY IN GOD'S WORD ALONE THAT SUNDAY IS "THE LORDS DAY"?
2. WHAT DAY ACCORDING TO GOD'S WORD IS "THE LORDS DAY"?
3. IF THERE IS NO SCRIPTURE THAT SAYS SUNDAY IS "THE LORDS DAY" ARE WE FOLLOWING GOD'S WORD OR MAN MADE TEACHNINGS AND TRADITIONS?
Scripture only please and friendly discussion.
May God bless you as you seek him through his Word.
Why do you ask me questions I answered in my fist post, to which you're replying? BTW, I don't agree some of the posts addressed to you. Just blind people, who think they have the eyes of eagles, jousting with each other.
1st day of the week. SUNDAY as the pagan adopted remain in ENGLISH.
But we just walk over to GREEK.
Κυριακή Lord's day. First day of the week.
We see from early christians and letters "Lord's day" = first day of the week.
This whole sabbath day vs sunday thing was started here in the United States. USA.
John 7
19“Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you carries out the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?” 20The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?” 21Jesus answered them, “I did one deed, and you all marvel. 22“For this reason Moses has given you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man. 23“If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath so that the Law of Moses will not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made an entire man well on the Sabbath? 24“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
Here's a issue SDAs should look at. MOSES had to allow circumcision on sabbath else they would BREAK MOSAIC SABBATH LAW.
In other words you have to be circumcised to keep sabbath. Which is what the judaisers are complaining about in acts 15.
Acts 15
5But some of the sect of the Pharisees who had believed stood up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to direct them to observe the Law of Moses.”
Acts 15
19“Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, 20but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. 21“For Moses from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
Here James had to explain what Jews do on Sabbath to the Gentiles. Rather then say hey they do the same stuff we do on sabbath, which would be obvious and self-evident. Its clear from the pharisees gentiles were off doing something totally different.
Amen! SDA's will cite that Jesus said he was Lord of the Sabbath, yet that is a weak argument and the evidence for the first day (Sunday) is stronger. In all the 5 books that John wrote, he always called the Sabbath "the Sabbath." If Revelation 1:10 was the Sabbath, John would have stated, "I was in the Spirit on the Sabbath," but that is not what John said. Jesus rose on the first day (Sunday) AFTER the Sabbath. (Matthew 28:1) The Holy Spirit was given on Pentecost in Acts 2:1, which falls on Sunday. It was on the first day of the week (Sunday) that the disciples came together to break bread and worship because it was the the day of Christ's resurrection. (Mark 16:2; Luke 24:1; John 20:1,19)There's a reference to the Lord's Day Revelation 1:10. The authors of the commentaries I've checked believe it to be Sunday. If it were a reference to Saturday, I expect John would have called it the Sabbath. There's no smoking gun scripture reference to prove it's Sunday, but Sunday makes the most sense.
huh? Nope that does not answer the question; Where is the scripture that says SUNDAY is the "LORDS DAY" does it? If it doesn't who are we following God's Word or the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God?

YOU do not answer my question! The answer to your question is that God Incarnate in the form of Jesus Christ gave His followers the Apostles the power to "bind and loose" things on this earth and it was they who decided on the new "Lord's Day", Sunday. Scripture is followed and fulfilled by that action.
huh? Nope that does not answer the question; Where is the scripture that says SUNDAY is the "LORDS DAY" does it? If it doesn't who are we following God's Word or the teachings and traditions of men that break the commandments of God? No one is given power on earth to go against God's Word.
WHAT DAY IS THE LORD'S DAY ?
Every day is the LORD's (including "Sunday").
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it;
Hebrews 3
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Sabbath keeping with all it's rules and regulations, was part of a covenant with Israel (Exodus 16:23, 29; 31:12-18; 35:1-3; Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3, 32; Numbers 15:32-36; 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13; Amos 8:5; Nehemiah 10:31; 13:15,19) that is not binding on the Church/Christians in the New Testament. (Colossians 2:16-17)
Even when SDA's set out to worship on the Sabbath, are they truly "keeping the Sabbath as it was required in the Old Testament under the Old Covenant? This would involve compliance with specific regulations (Exodus 16:23; 35:3; Leviticus 23:32; Jeremiah 17:21) that were strictly enforced. If Sabbath day observances are still required, so would the burnt offerings which went along with them (Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3; Numbers 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13). So no kindling a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath (Exodus 35:3). Every man must remain in his place on the sabbath (Exodus 16:29). No trading (Amos 8:5). No marketing (Nehemiah 10:31; 13:15,19).
These were commanded by God to Israel (Exodus 35:1). If the seventh day Sabbath is still in affect, then why don't you seek to obey ALL that the LORD commanded? How can you keep a certain law when you only keep part of it? If the Sabbath day laws were still in effect today, then according to Exodus 31:12-18; 35:1-3; and Numbers 15:32-36, anyone who profaned the Sabbath was put to death and any person who does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from his people. So who is going to enforce that? The Jewish synagogue? The Seventh day Adventist church? The Government? Since we do not live under a theocratic state as Israel did in the Old Testament under the Old Covenant, no SDA can live consistently under these Mosaic regulations.
Sadly, you have been deceived by the Seventh Day Adventist church and need to repent of your false teachings in regards to the Sabbath that culminate in salvation is by "grace plus law, faith plus works" which is more than a subtle mixture of law and grace that is a perversion of the gospel (Galatians 1:6-9).
This is only sent in love and as a help to you.

I said there is not one . 'It is just the practice of meeting and cerebrating on the first day of the week, that commemorates Jesus resurrection.Hi there IoDebar nice to meet you. Did you know the disciples met together every day of the week *ACTS 2:46-47. Now the question was; Where is the scripture that says that "THE LORDS DAY" is Sunday? None of these scriptures say that do they?
Thanks for sharing though
Blessings.
