Once again, I find your analogy to be helpful, and well worth reading.

And I'm guessing that leaves the ESV as the only major Bible translation (based on the Critical Text) that has not updated this particular aspect of translation.

A lot will depend on just how much Gender inclusive language gets done in revision, as that will be the one thing that can ruin an excellent translation!

well. the Esv back in 2016 stated that their last revision would be the final one, as would be fixed, like the Kjv has been, but they soon changed their tune!

If they update the NASB for the sake of confirming to modern, accept grammar, I'm all for it!

But it's for the sake of gender inclusive reasons (primarily), I will not be a fan of it!

That should be the main criteria for any revision, yes to point 1, no to point 2!

I tried to use it as primary bible, but ended up going back to the 1977 edition!

I guess what I mean is that the ESV will be the only major translation not to go in the direction of gender inclusive language.

But, the footnotes are important. They represent a legitimate alternative. There was more inclusive language in the N.T. text of the HCSB than that of the ESV. But the ESV was more progressive in that the revisers recognized the perfectly legitimate alternative of "Or brothers and sisters" at least 131 times. It's just a matter of time for the alternatives to be put in the text.

But has the grammar of English changed significantly in the last 25 years?

Not essentially, but a great amount of new vocabulary has certainly issued forth aside from technological jargon. And the connotative meaning of a number of words has changed.

Which means that they will have created a really big niche to sell their version into, as many not into gender inclusive renderings!
