All true Bible students agree that Jesus built only one church, and at that time the saints were in that one church. Now we have a church that claims they are ones that Christ declared, “"I will build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it".” He promised that His Church could never be destroyed. Christ also said, “ "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matthew 15:9
"And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." Mark 7:9.

Now the Jews had picked up pagan beliefs and traditions that had nothing to do with Gods truth and incorporated into their worship, just as the church in Rome would do to the early church and lead it into apostasy. Now if Christ's church could never be destroyed and would continue till the end, it cannot be the church identified by scripture and seen by all the Protestant Reformers as the apostate church and biblical Babylon and the papacy as the power of the antichrist. You cannot have a false system of worship that substituted the true worship of the early church of Christ and the Apostles

Here is a good description of this false system of worship that swept out the true worship of the early church....

"..The Babylonian system of worship has essentially been maintained to this day and can be seen in some form or another. The ancient Chaldeans worshipped a pantheon of male and female gods representing the sun god. There were largely three aspects to this system of sun worship, representing the father, mother, and the son. These were the god Bel or Merodach, Ninus the son, who was also worshipped as Tammuz, and the female goddess Rhea who was also worshipped as Ishtar, Astarte, or Beltis representing the mother. She was also referred to as the 'queen of heaven', and the 'wrath subduer'. Mother and child worship was the basis of the ancient religions. And in the various religions of the world, the same system of worship was perpetuated under different names. In Egypt they were worshipped as Isis and Osiris or Horus, in India as Isi and Iswara, in China and Japan as the mother goddess Shing-moo with child, in Greece as Ceres or Irene and Plutus, in Rome as Fortuna and Jupitor-puer, or Venus and Adurnis, and in Scandinavia as Frigga and Balder. The mother and child were worshipped in Babylon as Ishtar and Tammuz, and in Phoenicia, as Ashtoreth and Baal. Moreover, the child was worshipped as both husband and son of the mother goddess.

The son, or male component, of the mother-child deities, is the counterfeit Saviour, and thus the counterfeit of Jesus Christ. All the titles pertaining to Jesus were also used for the child in ancient religions. Examples are: Zoroaster was also referred to as the 'seed' of the woman, Mitras (the Persian sungod) was referred to as the Saviour, Dionysus as the sin-bearer, Bacchus as the branch, Vishna as the victim-man, Osiris as the king of kings.

The system of worship has its origin in the legend of Nimrod, and his wife Semiramus. Nimrod was an apostate and rebelled against God, like his father Cush. Eventually Nimrod was put to death for his evil deeds, and according to the ancient patriarchal system, parts of his body were sent to various cities as a warning. His wife Semiramus fled, but spread the rumour that he had ascended to heaven, where he had become one with the sun. When Semiramus later gave birth to a son, she claimed that it was the reincarnation of her deified husband, and that he had returned as Saviour of the human race. She was later deified as the mother of god who had ascended into heaven as the queen of heaven. In the various cultures, the same basic deities were then worshipped under different names.

Sun worship is often seen as primitive, but is in fact a sophisticated awe inspiring system of worship which appeals to the senses and captivates the mind with its grandiose ceremonies. This system of worship has been perpetuated throughout generations, and in our day forms the basis of all the religions such as Earth Religions, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Catholicism. In the mysteries of Catholicism, sun worship reaches its highest form. The names of the gods have changed, but the system of worship is the same.

As the sungod (Nimrod) plunged into the waters of the river (Euphrates), so the reincarnated son plunged into the waters of the womb to be worshipped as the saviour. The cycle of the sun represents this ancient cycle of the sun rising (Brahma), the sun at the meridian (Siva) and the sun setting (Vishnu). At night, the sun rests in the womb of the ocean in the darkness of the underworld (representing the death and suffering of the sungod). As god of the ocean (Poseidon, Neptune), he was also worshipped as the fishgod Dagon (Dag = fish, On = the name of sungod as he was called in Egypt) who had plunged into the waters of the womb to be reborn. The most prominent form of worship in Babylon was dedicated to Dagon, later known as Ichthys, or the fish. In Chaldean times, the head of the church was the representative of Dagon, he was considered to be infallible, and was addressed as 'Your Holiness'. Nations subdued by Babylon had to kiss the ring and slipper of the Babylonian god-king. The same vestments of paganism, the fish mitre and robes of the priests of Dagon are still worn in some churches and the same powers and the same titles are claimed to this day by the Dalai Lama of Buddhism, and the Pope.

When Constantine married paganism and Christianity, the door was opened for certain beliefs, traditions and doctrines to creep into the early church, and they were gradually introduced into the system of worship.

Pagan Sunday worship, was also introduced from paganism, and this is confirmed by standard dictionary definitions.

Sunday - so called because this day was anciently dedicated to the sun, or to its worship. The first day of the week.[Webster’s Dictionary, 1929 ed.]

Pagan priests were celibate, tonsured, and received the power of sacrificing for the living and the dead. The goddess in ancient religions was worshipped as the life giver and nurturer and as such, this religion was imbued with sexual undertones. Phallic symbols, as well as symbols of femininity and divine intercourse, were common in ancient temples (as they are in some modern churches and temples). Other symbols of sun worship include the solar wheel dating back to the Chaldeans, halos, various pagan crosses, lightning bolts, hand-signals from sun worship cults, tridents, fleur-de-lis, sexagesimal triangles with the eye of Hathor, coptic shells which in paganism served as a symbol of the cosmos, astrological signs, globes as symbols of rulership of the universe, sacred hearts as used in many sun cults, sacred animals (many of them mythological such as dragons, the serpent, unicorn and the phoenix), fertility symbols such as pine cones (pagan deities wore the pine cone on their crosier), sacred trees (symbols of the suffering and resurrected sungod) and prayer beads for repetitive prayers even though the Bible admonishes:

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Matthew 6:7 ....." excerpted with permission from The Wine of Babylon by Professor Walter J. Veith.

So who is the true church of Christ, we can see it in scripture...
1 Thessalonians 2:13-14 King James Version (KJV)
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:

Its clear, the church are the people not a building or grand cathedral, it is the true believers who follow the Word of Christ, not traditions of man, or a false system of worship.

And where is the "true" church? Is it yours, the one started by "the woman"? Is she the great "Prophetess" that all humankind was waiting for? Nope! Just another sect among thousands of sects.

And ALL of this has already been proven to be a gigantic pile of manure invented by the likes of Alexander Hislop (The Two Babylons), Loraine Boettner (Roman Catholicism) and Jack Chick (pick whatever cartoon "tract" you like).
"Sun gods" and "Semiramis" and "Tammuz" and all of the other embarrassingly-stupid claims you've made based on the 3 schlock-artists listed above.

You don't even argue your points when you've been exposed for lying - you simply paste more.
These are the actions of a truly desperate and ignorant poster.

Don't you ever tire of being publicly humiliated with the truth??

His Church is composed of the souls He has chosen to call out of darkness into His marvelous light.

Ekklēsia (G1577) From a compound of ἐκ (G1537) and a derivative of καλέω (G2564)

ἐκ (G1537) A primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence action or motion proceeds), from, out (of place, time, or cause; literal or figurative out of, from, by, away from

καλέω (G2564) to call, to call aloud, utter in a loud voice ,to invite, to call i.e. to name, by name

Ekklēsia (G1577) the whole body of Christians scattered throughout the earth

The ancient Greek word ekklesia was not primarily a religious word at all; it just meant, “group” or “called-out group.” In describing the later group of His followers and disciples, Jesus deliberately chose a word without a distinctly religious meaning.

Study Guide for Matthew 16 by David Guzik

“…Furthermore, this statement of Jesus was a clear claim of ownership (My church). The church belongs to Jesus. This was also a claim to deity: “What is striking is…the boldness of Jesus’ description of it as my community, rather than God’s.” (France)

Taken together, the promise is wonderful:

He brings His people together in common: I will build.

He builds on a firm foundation: On this rock I will build.

He builds something that belongs to Him: My church.

He builds it into a stronghold: the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it….”

[1Pe 2:9 KJV] 9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

There are seven churches making up the one, all which will be sealed in the Lambs Book of Life....

    Candlesticks
    - Seven church congregations
Stars - Individuals within the congregations, all held in the right hand of Christ
Seals - The seven seals sealed each congregation within the lambs book of life

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. - Revelation 5:4

If this interpretation is not correct why all the ado?

    1. Ephesus - Messianic - Obstained from the Gentiles
    2. Smyrna - Martyr - The Foxes Book of Martyrs has the Roman Persecution as ten.
    3. Pergamos - Orthodox- Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
    4. Sardis- Protestantism formed in this time- A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
    5. Thyatira - Catholic - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
    6. Philadelphia - period of revivals - To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love.
    7. Laodicea - Rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing?

Christ has issues with each church movement. If any think they are the perfect one church then the ego sets in giving them fault also.

they keep a couple of the Sabbath laws found in the bible and therefore they think they keep the sabbath

Then they add insult to injury by boasting that they keep all the commandments including the sabbath.

Are all their males circumcised? does the congregation kill all the sabbath violators?
do they wear clothes of mixed fabric on the sabbath?

THEY DO NOT KEEP THE SABBATH ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURE.
They should at least be honest enough to admit that.

I believe the Baptist church has elements of the Philadelphian church.

Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out... - Revelation 3:12

“No more go out” This is the disadvantage of this church, they are in and out of revival. I believe the Philadelphian church is made up of conferences, revivals, and camp meetings where one could leave spiritually refreshed. It is worrisome to me that most churches where I would attend only has one Sunday morning service.

I was brought up GARBC as a pre-teen when we lived up in Michigan in the 70s. My pastor used to take us to youth retreats upstate. The young people looked like the angels of heaven and the sermons would make you want to go to the altar to pray. In which sometimes I did, leaving such meeting with the feeling of having Christ with me.

All of those churches were present in that day. Same as throughout history. Churches that exhibit those traits have always existed

Getting the order of the churches right...

    1. Ephesus - Messianic - Obstained from the Gentiles
    2. Smyrna - Martyr - The Foxes Book of Martyrs has the Roman Persecution as ten.
    3. Pergamos - Orthodox- Pergos is a tower... Needed in the dark ages
    4. Thyatira - Catholic - The spirit of Jezebel is to control and to dominate.
    5. Sardis- Protestantism formed in this time- A sardius is a gem - elegant yet hard and rigid
    6. Philadelphia - period of revivals - To be sanctioned is to acquire it with love.
    7. Laodicea - Rich and increased with goods and have need of nothing?

These churches were very much different as the third and fourth one putting much emphasis on the Mother Mary. If there was such thing as a perfect church I would be afraid to go there, as I would make such a place imperfect. Father forgive me of sin and iniquity in Jesus name!

Not to oppose error is to approve it; and not to defend truth is to suppress it, and, indeed, to neglect to confound evil men—when we can do it—is no less a sin than to encourage them.- Pope St. Felix III

The Catholic church thinks they are the true church. The only thing is that opens the door to the spirit of Jezebel, which is to forcefully control and to dominate. And they do this thinking they are in God's service.

Every person that has received Holy Spirit indwelling is part of His “church”.

We do our best to understand and apply His word to our lives, and no doubt every single organized group of Christians miss the mark in some areas of application.

Let each group be convinced in their own minds as we all work out our salvation in fear and trembling and a generous amount of humility.

    peace to you

look, i challenged them to show me a verse supporting their theory of earthly sabbath keeping and they couldn't.

i showed them a passage - an account where Jesus allowed us to break the sabbath picking, shucking and eating corn and then showed them the passage which authenticated it,

Luke 6:5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Crickets!!!! And, this is evidence they would love to be able to provide. Plenty of evidence for Gnostics and other heretics. Why not a scintilla of evidence for all those Baptist churches y'all keep insisting existed? Let me guess, the big bad Catholics destroyed all the evidence evangelicals existed but they neglected to destroy the evidence of other heretical groups like The gnostics, right?

Evangelicals in antiquity reside in the same place as do skeletal remains of the Loch Ness Monster, the Sasquatch, and the South Georgia Snipe: In men’s imaginations.
