According to John MacArthur & Phil Johnson...
    1) what should a christian do if he sins?
    2) What is the meaning of repentance?
    3) How to gain assurance of salvation?
    4) When does a person have salvation but loses the assurance of salvation?

I would like to know the above.

the problem with Lordship Salvation is that one can never know if the requirements for proving one has lived up to the demands of Lordship Salvation have been achieved...

what if i love the Lord with only 99% of my heart?

They follow the scriptures on each of these questions and know that Jesus is Lord and Saviour.
Scripture answers these questions, these men believe and teach exactly what scripture offers.

no. but neither am i of arminius.

we disobey the scripture when we follow a man as if he were a god

1 Corinthians 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas

Lets bring this passage into the 21st century

1 Corinthians 1:12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Calvin; and I of Arminius; and I of Spurgeon ...

this kind of idolatry divides and has divided the church for centuries.
i dont like "unconditional election" because there was a condition for our father's choice of the elect

Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

    the condition
we are saved for God's purpose (His glory) which was determined after the counsel of His own will.

We were/are hopeless and helpless in our death due to our trespasses and sins, therefore God must save us in His sovereignty via the blood atonement of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.

Yet, we have a responsibility to choose His way, such that If we refuse the gospel of the death burial and resurrection of the Son of God we will receive His wrath.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

So what about a christian couple in a church, in a leadership position, in a live-in relationship? What should be the response of the church committee towards them?

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

Friberg 03404 Repentance metanoia to change one's mind.

2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
    5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
    6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Does change in one's mind denote change in behavior or change in the object of faith from self to Christ?

    "Steven_15,

    1)
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

    2)
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

    3)
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

    6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

    1) Which forgives? Law or grace?
    2) What is unrepentant sin? Are you sinless?

'Jesus is either Lord over all, or else he is Lord over none!"
Problem of Lordship is that they see us needing to make Him Lord, but truth is that He already once we get saved Lord over all areas of our lives, but we need to accept that and grow and mature in Him....

We should confess and repent that sin to God
To repent means to agree with God on that was sinning
We are saved by grace alone, so focus on Jesus
When they fail so understand Grace, and also when fail to deal with unconfessed/unrepentent sinning!

No, but as long as I refuse to acknowledge and deal with my known sins can cause me to lose assurance!

of course JESUS IS LORD but for many it takes time to come to that realization and that after many miserable failures.
