Thorn in 2 Corinthians 12 is mentioned in order to prevent self exaltation and encourage faith in His grace. Thorn is not a norm.

I remember hearing a sermon many years ago entitled 'Five Principles of Answered Prayer.'
    These principles were:
    1. Ask in Jesus' name - John 16:23.
    2. Confess and shun all known sin - Psalms 66:18.
    3. Pray according to God's will - 1 John 5:14.
    4. Pray with faith - Mark 11:24.
    5. Pray continually - Luke 18:1.

    I think I would add a sixth: Pray unselfishly - James 4:3.

I think we have to accept that it is not always God's will to answer every prayer. I once gave a sermon on 'Five Instances of unanswered prayer.' If I recall, they were: Genesis 17:18; Deuteronomy 3:25; 2 Samuel 12:16; 2 Corinthians 12:7-9, and, of course, Matthew 26:39. God is under no obligation to answer our prayers.

You needn't. If you accuse others while simultaneously trusting in the moral law, better repent.

When you use the term "sin", you presuppose you know the moral law. Jesus stated the moral law in "Be perfect as the Father is perfect" and which refers to the Father's expectation from humans in order for them to be accepted by Him.
But when you claim to confess & shun only the known sins, you are lowering the bar of the moral law to your favor in order to please God and be self-satisfied. But God doesn't accept that according to Mathew 5:48. Either surrender "God I can never please You by my works of the moral law and I believe You accept me only for the sake of Your Son's perfect works" or fulfill the law perfectly. Avoid pretending to have pleased God with a diluted moral law.

I think you better rethink that... Brother Glen:)

Colossians 4:14 Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you.

I have many stories I can tell, from both sides!!!

Well excuse me brethren in almost all the twenty years I've been on here, this is the first time I recall I've ever been here... Been in the church for over sixty years, not a minister but been around and know a lot about them... So here goes

A preacher friend of mine, been preaching since the age of sixteen... Now pushing eighty, tells how when him and his wife were married, him being a young man and having two young daughters... His wife went to the doctor for a routine appointment, after a full examination they told her... Go home and get your house in order, you are going to die... Cancer had ravaged her whole body and there was no hope... How could I raise two young daughters alone he asked the Lord?... There was nothing I could do but pray and those around me prayed and hope the Lord would be merciful and not take my wife and their mother... When later she went in for another doctor visit, the cancer was no where to be found... A miraculous healing and she is alive now.

I was married to my Christian wife for 30 years... Four years before that she was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer, so they operated and took both kidneys, within the four year span I watched her die... She left me and our two grown children... But I do believe the Lord healed her?... What better healing is this?... And I know she is!

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

A year after my first wifes passing I met another Christian lady and we now have been married for 16 years... Six to seven years ago, she went in for her annual mammogram and they discovered a lump in her breast... It was cancer but it hadn't spread but it was aggressive... She went through surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy and she has been a cancer survivor ever since... Why God took my first one and spared her, we don't know, that is Gods business and none of mine... We both thank him for it everyday... She is now the head of the Cancer, Care and Compassion Ministry at our church, which she started and her group helps ALL those who are going through it... Weather you belong to our church or not or even go to church... She has a mission to pay it forward and she is on fire!... She even helped the wife of someone on our board, talk to Steve or as he is better known as Earth, Wind and Fire... DOES GOD HEAL?... In more ways than you an ever imagine... And in his time!... And NEVER follows any agenda... Brother Glen:)

My first born had a feeding problem after birth. Lost 3 lbs in the first week. Spent 4 weeks in the NICU and doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong. About week 3 of the NICU, the doctors were talking about doing exploratory surgery. My wife and I went to a room and prayed. We told God we were thankful for the time we had with our son and we could hand him into God's hand. We also asked that God might mercifully heal and we would diligently raise our son to know God.
5 minutes later the doctor came in the room and said "I don't know what just happened, but your son is eating. We knew that God had graciously healed. Such joy! My son is graduating college this spring and is walking close with God.

I hear you my brother!... 41 years ago... Daughter born prematurely 3lbs 8oz., born at home, rushed to the hospital and put in the Neo- Natal Unit... Sure to die... Due to respiratory distress syndrome but a doctor from NICU, just happened to be there and saw her in distress and took her with him!... Coincidence?... I don't believe in coincidence... She was in ICU for 28 days... She now lives with my Granddaughter in Arkansas... She is 41... Brother Glen:)

Just a side note... We were not expecting her, my wife's family doctor told her she could never have kids... I guess God wasn't listening, when he sent us this bundle of joy... So I asked my wife what should we name her... She said her name is Faith!... Btw... Two years later she got a brother!

Did Jesus & the Apostles say "As faith to heal will cease in the NT era, construct plenty of hospitals as God can heal only through doctors?

Th e question is, is healing in Christ's atonement? Is healing guaranteed by faith at all times?

My guess is, you don't take Genesis literally and don't understand the fall and the curse, which will be with us until Christ returns. I'd be curious what teachers you're following, teaching you you're guaranteed physical healing prior to glorification. You're going to be very disappointed. Hopefully not shipwrecked.
