Big news. Bravo. It's about time. Reading their statement they certainly make it clear what the bible says about it.

What about the"give unto Caesar" mandate?

Some churches hold internet services and zoom small groups, and outdoor events with masks and distancing.

Maybe churches can give back to Cesar all the tax breaks they have gotten and feel free to start obeying God? I wonder if people used to accuse the disciples and Jesus of not social distancing with the lepers and etc? By all normal expectations they would risk catching these diseases. The advice of the med folks of the day was no doubt to stay away from the lepers. Heck the leaders of Israel even wanted Jesus to stay away from the tax collectors and women of the streets etc. But is is not business as usual when God is in the house!

There were times that Jesus did practice distancing and healed them from afar also. But who is to say He had to do that all the time?

Are you saying that churches should pay taxes? Just asking in order to understand-- not to cause friction, OK?

I personally think all non profits should pay taxes. Too many fat cat CEOs and employees raking in mega bucks. As far as that goes, too many pastors raking in the big dough.

Hey I would prefer that the govt cut all abortions, and much of the military, and either change the education system or give the money all to bible believers and churches and home schoolers! (and divert funds from many other programs too long to list) I would vote that they pay bible teaching/believing churches, forget just a tax break. But when Caesar offers benefits of any kind (like tax breaks) that come with conditions (support baby murder evil lifestyles etc) then I think it may be time to tell Caesar that we are not for sale or rent. It is all very well and good if a descent government wants to help a church do charity and etc, but not when they want to take over how it works, or what churches decide is worthy to spend God's money on etc.
