What is the difference between inductive as a method versus as a way of reasoning?

I have personally always done a topical type of Bible study. That does not mean that is better. It has always worked best for me to understand a teaching.

 

There is no passage that says ' chosen for redemption ' . No i make the distinction between ' Not all ISRAEL is Israel . But I take Jesus words literally when he said He came not but for the lost sheep of the house of Israel . His ministry was to Israel .

 

Do you have a verse that says ' sheep ' with that ?

 

inductive vs. Deductive Method
The inductive method (usually called the scientific method) is the deductive method "turned upside down". The deductive method starts with a few true statements (axioms) with the goal of proving many true statements (theorems) that logically follow from them. The inductive method starts with many observations of nature, with the goal of finding a few, powerful statements about how nature works (laws and theories).
In the deductive method, logic is the authority.
If a statement follows logically from the axioms
of the system, it must be true. In the scientific
method, observation of nature is the authority.
If an idea conflicts with what happens in nature,
the idea must be changed or abandoned.

 

Deductive reasoning: adults are
generally bigger and stronger than
children.
Inductive reasoning: I know one 5th
grader who is 6’5”, therefore children are taller than most adults .

 

I take God literally as well. The lost sheep of Israel come from every nation tribe and tongue.

The people whom Jesus prays for, are they his sheep or not?

We were Dogs , not sheep . Jesus came for sheep. But Israel rejected their messiah ,so lo the message turned to the Gentiles .

 

Verses or versus? Some passage of scripture or a comparison of meanings?

 

The same verses you use. I simply take God literally when he identifies all children of the promise as Israel.

I'm sorry you refuse to accept this truth.

 

There are Goats in the land, Barry. Not all Israel is Israel. Paul was clear. Jesus tells us he separates the sheep from the goats. We, the children of the promise, are sheep. If this is not so, then Abraham is not a sheep.

I wonder why you cannot accept this truth, Barry. Why have you rejected what God has made righteous?

I cannot speak for you.
I can speak for myself. God has chosen me as His sheep. God has given me faith to believe. God has sustained my faith through sorrows and trials. God has given me steadfastness through the trials. I therefore count it all joy. (Read James)
