No, we who afire against KJVO are just following the very example left to us by the 1611 translators themselves, as they were by no means KJVO!

Why is it hatred to be in agreement with the 1611 translators?

So you are stating that the KJV is NOT perfect?
    FTR, I do use MV.

It is NOT ignorant to think that MV help to understand 17th century English language since we speak 20th/21st century American Language. That's right, we do not speak English, we speak American!
The KJV is written on a College Freshman level. Yes, I know some say it it written on a 8th grade level. I would agree some of the Books and or chapters are - but on an average - it is on a 11th or 12th grade level, if not College Freshman.

Of the words on this link - how many of the words would you know without the explanation?
List of archaic words in the KJV and their modern equivalents | CARM.org

NOW, let me make this perfectly clear:
I AM NOT A HATER OF THE KJV

I often use the KJV - as well as the MV.
I also use several Bible helps, commentaries, ect when I study for a message.

    Let me ask you this:
Is it wrong to use MV?
Is it wrong to use Commentaries
Is it wrong to use KJV Bible Study Notes
Is it wrong to use Blue Bible
    Blue Letter Bible Search

And finally, Can you show us in the KJV, Why the KJV is the only version to use?

BONUS question - In the year 1500 which version was the version that should have been used?

I'd ask you the same questions plus why do you hate the KJV. You see I don't hate the modern versions what I hate is the hatred displayed by modern version users of the KJV. Always talking it down always degrading those who use it . I'm always asked why I use it.
I use it simply because I happen to love using it. I hold it as the most accurate version there is.I do not believe modern versions are as accurate
I use other versions as well but the critical text is used only when I'm trying to understand what others are trying to say with it's use. It is false to say that the English used in the KJV is not understandable. I have a 10 year old great grand son that understands it perfectly Some of the words used in the NASB aren't even in a college dictionary.

The reason for modern versions is not better understanding. The reason IMHO is confusion. There can be no unity in so many different versions. Who's owners are only interested in Money. By the way a version is someones opinion. So each version represents a different persons opinion. There are so many versions of the critical text it's really pitiful. They all say it a little different.
It is not wrong to use anything to help you understand, Unless what you're using is wrong to begin with.
Are you claiming modern versions are all accurate? If so what about the New world translation. One of the first versions of the critical text.

    Easily !

Most MVs don't have the "Easter" goof the KJV has in Acts 12:4. And they correctly read, in 1 Tim. 6:10, "the love of money is A root of ALL SORTS of evil." And they correctly read, "You shall not MURDER" in Ex. 20:13.

Not that MVs don't have some goofs & booboos also, but not as many as the KJV does. Don't you want as ACCURATE a translation as you can get ?

I have read it. and understood it. If you want to understand it you might have to study it a little more rigorously.By the I have it on my Bible program.

The KJV is more accurate that the original Alexandrian text they used for the modern text .
You call your self Robycop are you really a cop who understands deductive reasoning. If so you should appreciate the KJV. It's called the majority text for a reason It was translated from the Majority of text. The Critical text was not. The majority of witnessing text is always more accurate

Think about it this way we now have College grads who cannot read on a 5th grade level.
They still need to learn about Dick and Jane.

How do you know that it is more accurate, unless you are using circular KJVO reasoning here!

Did you read where they saw themselves as not making the final and perfect version, as they expected others to come along and upgrade and build upon there work?

It was translated from the majority of text. And by Christian men, The Alexandrian consist of two I'm told. What makes the Alexandrian text more accurate?. Could that be by the expertise of it's translators who were not Christian. I' trust the Christian over Wescott and Hort any day

RB DOES NOT hate the KJV - he is simply giving you facts. If you don't like the facts - than I suppose you hate the facts. If you read RB's post - his church does use the KJ - they just don't believe it is the ONLY version.
I would still like to have you answer the questions I asked in post # 106 and 12.

But I have a suspcion as to why you refuse to answer those questions.

Now, this will be my last post in this thread - as it is getting close to being closed, and I prefer NOT to have the last word.
