Why God the Father Is Not Invisible

This is a bible study on why God the Father is not invisible. Proof of this can be found in scripture by how invisible was also applied to our future King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 1:16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. KJV

Since scripture applied invisible toward the King, the Lord Jesus Christ as not being presently seen, then we should discern with Him if that is not how invisible is meant towards God the Father.

Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

It is strange that believers read that to mean God is invisible and yet the Son is the image of the Father. Since the Son can be seen, then obviously the Father Whom has not been seen by men, shall be seen in Heaven.

Jesus testified before coming down here in being incarnated as the Son of Man that He has seen the Father even though no man has seen Him.

John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. KJV

John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. KJV

So where did this come from that God the Father was invisible? I discern with Him that people misapplied Jesus's answer in verse 24 to the Samaritan woman of "God is a Spirit" in John 4:19-24. The woman had asked Jesus where to worship God at, in the mountains or as the Jews say in Jerusalem? So His answer "God is a Spirit" is saying the Father can be worshipped anywhere.

John 4:19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. ~ KJV

His full answer is prophesying to the coming salvation thru Jesus Christ where any one can worship God the Father anywhere because their bodies shall become the temple of the Holy Spirit & so in order to come anywhere to the father is by the only way provided & that is by the only way of honoring the Son in worship.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. KJv

John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. ~ KJV

So by worshiping the Father anywhere, all they need to do & know they are approaching God the Father in worship is by the only way to approach Him in worship by honoring the Son in worship & thus the Father.

That is the only way to apply God is a Spirit to mean in that God is not confined to a place of worship on earth any more, but can be approached anywhere by the only way provided to worship Him by; His Son.

So the Father does have a celestial body that can be seen by the Son as we shall too in Heaven, but He is not presently seen on earth for what invisible is meant & should be applied as such towards the Father.

With His help, keep it in context to what Jesus is saying in regards to the Father. No man has seen the Father but Jesus has.

John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. KJV

Men has seen God in the Old Testament & that was the Son of God before His incarnation as the Son of Man. Jesus testified to this that He was the God men had seen in the Old Testament.as scriptures testified of Him.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.... 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? KJV

John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. ~ KJV

I believe that day was Genesis 18:1-8 when He ate & drank with Abraham before giving the news of Sarah shall have a son.

He also appeared to Abraham in Genesis 17:1 & to Isaac in Genesis 26:1-2 & then to Jacob in Genesis 32:24-30 &of course to Moses since He said he had written of Him.

So the Father was not seen by men yet in any earthly encounter because that was the Son of God they had seen, but because the Son has seen Him in Heaven, we shall too, God be willing by being of the firstfruits of the resurrection by His grace & by His help as our Good Shepherd in helping us lay aside every weight & sin ( Hebrews 12:1-2 & 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ) & even being willing to go in leaving our lives & loved ones behind when the Bridegroom comes. Luke 21:34-36 & Luke 14:15-36 & not to be like Lot's wife in Luke 17:26-37

Obviously Jesus is God as the God men had seen & believers await His appearing one day.

Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. KJV

The Holy Spirit does not have a body, but the Father & the Son does, as the One God..

But the receiving of the promise of the Holy Ghost at our salvation is done without something that can be seen when done by faith in Jesus Christ, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. KJV

God the Father and the Holy Spirit are invisible, as ONLY Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God!
Have you been listening to Mormons, as they see God and Jesus as both physical bodily;y beings!

International Standard Version Acts 7:55-56 But Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit, looked straight into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. He said, “Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

Abstract attributes, like lovingkindness or power, are not material in nature and thus cannot be seen with our eyes, but can be apprehended and appreciated by our intellect. Our invisible God is "Spirit" and does not consist of material, but we can "see" his invisible attributes.

Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

He's invisible to human eyes.

duh.

When we're glorified, we shall see Him as He is, for we shall be like Him.

But you want to say that we can see Him as He is now, with our eyes of flesh. Go to the Mormons. You're a better fit for them than you are for Baptists.

Are you ignoring the scripture in the OP?

Is Jesus visible to you now? No. Where is He? In Heaven. That is what invisible is referring to about the Father & not just the Son, as not presently seen.

The Holy Spirit does not have a body we can see, but the Father & the Son are the Ones we shall see within the One God we shall live with in Heaven where God dwells. The Holy Spirit is our seal of adoption & so, not sure how we can see Him as separate from us in Heaven.

I believe that is referring to His intelligent design rather than the 2 celestial bodies we shall see in Heaven for why the request was made in the plural of "let us make man in our image, & after our likeness". Genesis 1:26

So seeing His intelligent design in creation is not deferring from scripture of the 2 celestial bodies in Heaven by Whom we were made after per the Son's request. John 10:1-3

Jesus has seen the Father In Heaven before His incarnation that no man has seen yet. John 6:46 So all those in Heaven shall see Him too when we will not need Jesus to ask for us but we can ask the Father directly in that day when we are in Heaven for when Jesus is now with the Father

John 16:25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. 26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: 27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. 28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. KJV

Not sure who you are replying to, @Yeshua1 or me , but the only time we shall see the Father & the Son is in Heaven in our perfect resurrected state. I was not referring to seeing the Father down here in our current state. The Father remains in Heaven when Christ returns as the King of kings. In the end after the great White Throne Judgment, Christ gives the kingdom back to the Father when death has been cast into lake of fire forever to bring everything under subjection to Him as the Christ before giving the Kingdom to the Father.

1 Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
