It seems that Christians may have several different beliefs about instrumental music.

Some may believe that all instrumental music pleases God.

Some may believe that no instrumental music pleases God--it is neutral in the sense that it neither pleases Him nor displeases Him.

Some may believe that some instrumental music pleases God and the rest does not please Him.

Some may believe that some instrumental music pleases God, some does not, and the rest neither pleases Him nor displeases Him--it is neutral.

Why don't you just tell us what you think instead of dragging this thing out and telling each responder that his response is not answering your question.

I did not start this thread to tell people what I think. I want to know from the poll what other people think about the specific question that I asked and get some idea of how prevalent the various views might be.

Still would be nice if you told us where you stand? just curious - have you voted in the poll yet?

Now, If I were to play the piano or some other instrument - that would probably
come under the: "does not please"

Yes, I have voted. If I tell people what I think, then the discussion typically becomes focused on whether people agree with me or not instead of just a polling of what various people think.

I'd much rather get a good sampling of the views than get immersed with setting forth my views.

Seriously?

Prove otherwise

Music should express biblical truth. Its not about making us feel good

Its called worship ie proclaiming Gids glory, goodness faithfulness, power, holiness

The i like the beat comment came from American Bandstand

Why do I have to prove otherwise? I did not make any claim.

You are the one who made a claim. I asked you if you have any Bible to support your view.

Your reply shows that what you say is just your opinion with no Bible to back it up.

The words are what matter

I like the beat, I give it a 95

Yes, Words (and message) are very important!

But , I am not a "Beat" type of guy.

Also, from time to time, when I lead music- I will ask the congregation to read (say) the third verse.
I want the folks to know, what the song is all about!

I haven't made any comments to say that the words do not matter. This thread is not about words.
