It seems that Christians may have several different beliefs about instrumental music.

Some may believe that all instrumental music pleases God.

Some may believe that no instrumental music pleases God--it is neutral in the sense that it neither pleases Him nor displeases Him.

Some may believe that some instrumental music pleases God and the rest does not please Him.

Some may believe that some instrumental music pleases God, some does not, and the rest neither pleases Him nor displeases Him--it is neutral.

What do you believe about instrumental music?

 

No, I am not talking about the instruments. I am talking about the instrumental music itself--the collection of musical sounds as a unit.

 

Regardless of the place, setting, context, intent, purpose, etc of the music, my poll is about what people believe about instrumental music itself.

 

That doesn't really answer my specific question about the music itself because you qualify it based on its use.

I did not start this thread to tell people what I think. I want to know from the poll what other people think about the specific question that I asked and get some idea of how prevalent the various views might be.

 

Yes, I have voted. If I tell people what I think, then the discussion typically becomes focused on whether people agree with me or not instead of just a polling of what various people think.

I'd much rather get a good sampling of the views than get immersed with setting forth my views.

You are the one who made a claim. I asked you if you have any Bible to support your view.

Your reply shows that what you say is just your opinion with no Bible to back it up.

 

I haven't made any comments to say that the words do not matter. This thread is not about words.
