Well, what would you say Gods Word teaches from your personal reading of the scriptures....

 

Well, here is the Hebrew on Sheol... Sheol: the GRAVE? Gehenna? Hades? HELL? – Hebrew Word Lessons

It is the grave even though many misconstrue it...
"After a week of researching Sheol, which often gets translated as “Hell”, I thought I’d be feeling rather grim at the end of it all, but the word has actually given me a great amount of hope and positivity. That may sound strange, but by the time you’re finished reading this posting I hope you end up feeling the same way. Sheol is not hell… at least not in the sense of our present cultural interpretation of the place, (a place of eternal suffering and damnation, with fire and brimstone and torment). Some suggest that sheol simply means the grave, which seems to make sense, apart from the fact that there is another Hebrew word for “grave”: qehver (6913). However, having more than one word for grave shouldn’t be of concern; English is notorious for multiple words meaning the same thing: grave, tomb, sepulchre, cemetery plot, burial chamber… and it’s not the only language to do this.

What the Tanakh does make it clear, is that Sheol is not the place where evil people go. It’s just the place where everyone goes. Everyone dies and goes down to Sheol…"

Well, everyone whether saint or sinner is said to go there, so the grave is clearly the place.

Scripture shows us we are in asleep in the grave or alive when Christ comes again to take us to heaven, so until then we are not 'present with the Lord' or 'face to face'.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 King James Version (KJV)
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

What Does the Bible Say About Dead Will Rise Again?

 

Its what the scripture says, its not anything to be afraid of, as at the resurrection at the Second Coming you are raised out of this and restored. Take a look at God talking to Moses...

Deuteronomy 31:16
And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

Nathan to David...

2 Samuel 7:12
And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

And Bathsheba to David...

1 Kings 1:21
Otherwise it shall come to pass, when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon shall be counted offenders.

And Job...

Job 7:21
And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, and take away my iniquity? for now shall I sleep in the dust; and thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.

Job 14:12-13
So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
