You forget one element - that is Christians (who would not glorify or exploit the deaths of others).
I love my neighbor, like a disciple of Jesus should. Why can’t you do the bare minimum if you claim to be a Christian?
You need to remove the plank from your eye before telling other Christians how unChristian they are. It’s a worn out go to for you & you diminish the Christian spirit by using those words in an unChristian fashion.

The illustration perfectly encapsulates the massive misunderstanding about the purpose of masks.

For every other mask you see in the illustration, the mask is to PROTECT THE WEARER in a toxic environment.

With COVID-19, the mask provides minimal protection to the wearer, but PROTECTS THE ENVIRONMENT around a potentially infected person from becoming filled with virus, thus helping to prevent the spread to other persons sharing the environment.

In short, most masks prevent the dangers from outside from getting in, while most masks worn for COVID-19 help prevent the dangers from a specific person getting outside of that person's body.

Yet that's misunderstood by many religious people who also misunderstand it is not food, associations, or influences that come from outside that makes one impure, it is the sin within us that expresses itself externally that demonstrates we are impure.

Regarding this area, I wear a mask, have been vaccinated, and take precautions when interacting with people. I do not have a plank in my eye regarding the pandemic.

Regarding "Reynold's" constant attacks on me as a "leftist" --> 'leftists are wicked' --> 'He hates leftists/wicked people" --> 'God hates wicked people' reasoning, I am simply confronting him with the Gospel of Jesus. That's not a plank in my eye either -- that's the gospel.

Since I have been referencing the explicit teachings of Jesus the whole time, it is nearly impossible for me to be using them in an "unChristian fashion."

Did Jesus tell us to love our neighbors or not?

    Check Mark 12:31.

Did Jesus tell us to love our enemies or not?

I suggest checking Matthew 5:44-45 before you answer.

Either you are wrong or Jesus is wrong.

No, I did not forget. My generalized response was equivalent to your original generalized claim.

You can reference the teachings all you want. It’s living them that tells the tale & ever since I’ve been here you consistently abuse others by questioning their Christianity even to the point of calling people evil. I have ZERO regard for anything you say, as a consequence.

Read the study you quoted. The only masks tested were surgical and KN95 masks. The masks worn by the overwhelming majority, cloth or paper, were not tested.

There was no testing of how the virus goes through those masks. None, zero.

Based on the information you posted, it is simply false for you to claim “masks, to some degree, inhibit airborne transmission of the virus”

For your statement to be true, you must limit the masks to surgical or KN95 masks, and you must admit the masks limit (but do not prevent) larger droplets containing COVID from passing through those specific masks and acknowledge the overwhelming majority of the “droplets” are the smaller droplets that are not effected by masks.

But, since you can only regurgitate liberal propaganda, I suspect you will respond with…

False, false, everything he said is false and (insert the next liberal propaganda lie here) and that’s the truth!

    peace to you

You have quite the plank in your eye. Plank in both eyes if you can reconcile voting for Biden running on the DNC platform as moral, You have oak trees growing out your head.

Mine was a generated claim (in regards to the BB at a whole). It was also very specific to a few I believe would feel a sense of validation if the man were to die - and perhaps a bit of remorse should he recover and get to spend more time with his loved ones.

If anything the covid "debate" has shown me how unloving some "Christians" really are (both the anti-vaxers who have predicted just how the vax magnifies covid fatalities and the pro-vaxers who look to unvacvinated deaths as justification).

Why do you view some “Christians”, as you deride them with quotations, as unloving for trying to make people aware of potential risks so they might avoid it if they choose, or resist further damage with the first of many booster free treats? You seem to always make these jabs, then retreat quickly back to the middle of the road. Does that make you feel fair?

It is the teachings of Jesus that condemn Reynolds, not me. I'm just the messenger.

That's true. That's why I don't tell lies, knowingly repeat falsehoods, hate other people, and try to constantly point people to reality -- where Jesus is.

Again, I'm just quoting Jesus. Your problem is with Jesus.

If you think I am over the line, please report any statements to the moderators and they will deal swiftly with it if they see that I am in the wrong.

I don't do that very much. Is there a specific incident you have in mind?

Also, I don't recall you coming down on Reynolds in this very thread for calling me a "leftist" and then following it up claiming leftists are wicked people that both he and God hates. Why is that?

That's fine. I don't live for the approval of others, nor expect it.

Since you decided to attack me instead of answering my previous questions, I'll ask again:

Did Jesus tell us to love our neighbors or not?

    Check Mark 12:31.

Did Jesus tell us to love our enemies or not?

I suggest checking Matthew 5:44-45 before you answer.

Either you are wrong or Jesus is wrong.

Are you going to deal with what Jesus has taught us or are you going to attack me again?

Remember, one day you will have to answer directly to Jesus, and your attacks will not stand.

As I have noted before, it was the most moral choice I could make and still have my vote count. I disagree with quite a few things about Biden and the 2020 Democratic platform, as well as Trump and the 2016 Republican platform.* Remember, that's the same rationale that Christians have used to vote for Trump.

When someone stoops to insults, they have nothing relevant to say or they have been beaten but won't admit it.

    * There was no real 2020 Republican platform, and the 2016 Republican platform criticized Obama for doing things that Trump did during his first term. So, if Republicans are not completely hypocritical, the 2016 platform opposed a number of Trump's positions and actions. Of course, that assumes that Trump's supporters actually read the political platform statements...

Because any "Christian" that would glory in the death of men for being vaccinated or for turning down the shot needs to seriously consider the state of their heart.

I do not take a middle ground here. I stand firmly on the belief that whether to get the vax or not is a personal medical decision and covid should not be made a political issue.

That you believe people should choose sides is an issue, whether you know it or not.

What I do not like is misinformation on both sides (you are pretty bad about misinformation).

Time will tell regarding the virus and vaccine.

Boy, it is real obvious on this thread that the dems are having fantastic success in their strategy of division!
So many are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that their stance on this bug, it's transmittability, the effectiveness or lack there-of of masks, and believe and perpetuate their beliefs with videos, studies, & "testimonies" by "experts".
Frankly, this has gotten so political, that I don't accept any version anymore.

I will trust Him to guide me as needed re: shots, masks, distancing, etc. I'm sick of all the political brouhaha dictating actions that SHOULD just be a medical concern!!!!:Mad:rolleyes:

    May the rapture occur ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!:Biggrin:Thumbsup

    Yes, Lord come quickly....I agree.

I am not sure the Democrats comprise the pro-vax people....or the Republicans the anti-vax folk. Trump, by his own statements last month, is oro-vax....I do not believe Trump is a Democrat.

But the Dems did make the issue political (when the Dems were the anti-vax party). They did not have a legitimate platform on which to run.

That said, last month Trump blamed Biden for people not being vaccinated. He is partly right (the anti-vax crowd preach last years Democrat line....they just don't call the vaccines "Trumo vaccines".

But both the pro-vax and anti-vax people run off fear.

I also do not believe either side.

On this forum the anti-vax scream the loudest with misinformation. But on other boards it is sometimes the other way around.

To be fair, with the exception of 2 or 3 anti-vaxers on this board, most are honest (even if they are honestly misinformed).

For the record. I am not anti-vaccine. I am pro science, anti-political manipulation of science.

I’ve had the virus, was hesitant to get the vaccine based on scientific studies that show people who have had the virus and recovered receive no additional benefit from getting the vaccine.

However, with this variant, at least one study showed people who have had the virus, recovered, and did not receive the vaccine and then was exposed to the variant, we’re hospitalized at a slightly higher rate than people who never had it, were vaccinated, and then exposed to the variant.

Based on that science, I decided to get the vaccine.

This virus, and everything around it from masking to social distancing to closures, has been politicized from the beginning.

The damage we have done to our children, and are still doing, to gain political advantage will haunt this country for decades.

That will be the lasting legacy of this mess.

    peace to you
