Flood Evidence Clearly Seen by Geologist

Furthermore, Clausen found similar evidence of flooding that had occurred in the mid-Cenozoic across the Great Plains and other regions throughout the West.3,4 He kept finding that these so-called “anomalous” drainage systems and erosional surfaces existed much earlier than conventionally thought. The Ice Age wasn’t supposed to have occurred until well after the Rocky Mountains had formed. If not from ice meltwater, then what could have caused these drainage patterns?

Clausen had to develop a new paradigm to explain what he saw. But instead of accepting the reality of a global Flood, he suggested an earlier ice age occurred in the mid-Cenozoic, coinciding with the rise of the Rocky Mountains.5 He argued that the melting of this earlier ice sheet provided the water to erode the anomalous drainage patterns, and even to deposit the Oligocene, Miocene, and Pliocene sediments across the West.5

Ok, if a flood of that size happened, where is all of the water?

In the mantle of the earth.

There's as much water in the earth's mantel as there is in the oceans

The deep Earth holds about the same amount of water as our oceans. That’s the conclusion from experiments on rocks typical of those in the mantle transition zone, a global buffer layer 410 to 660 kilometres beneath us that separates the upper from the lower mantle.

“If our estimation is correct, it means there’s a large amount of water in the deep Earth,” says Hongzhan Fei at the University of Bayreuth in Germany. “The total amount of water in the deep Earth is nearly the same as the mass of all the world’s ocean water.”

The results add to mounting evidence that there is much more water than expected beneath us, mostly locked up within the crystals of minerals as ions rather than liquid water.

At least one team has previously discovered water-rich rock fragments in volcanic debris originating from the mantle. Another group has conducted experiments suggesting that the water at these depths was formed here on Earth rather than being delivered to the primordial planet by comets and asteroids.

“The vast amount of water locked inside rocks of this deep region of the mantle will certainly force us to think harder about how it ever got there, or perhaps how it could have always been there since solidification of the mantle,” says Steven Jacobsen of Northwestern University in Illinois, who wasn’t connected with the new research.

Nope. But I assure you, the mantle is not water buddy. It's molten rock.

I start by assuming the account is true, and that what I see today is nothing like the world that then was, having suffered a cataclysm of that magnitude.

As someone who has punched wells, I can assure you that there is groundwater found all over the Earth.

I spent 10 yrs doing it in the 1990s

    See my above post.
Technically, you are correct about the mantle, but there is groundwater world wide

People forget. Almost 3/4 (72%) of the earth is PRESENTLY covered in water and that is not counting the groundwater under the surface of the world. The whole plateau over Yellowstone & beyond is filled with underground water!

Rev 16:19,20 The great city was split into three parts & the cities of the nations collapsed. And God remembered Babylon the great & gave her the cup of the wine of the fury of His wrath. 20Then every island fled, and no mountain could be found.

Do you know what apocalyptic means? It seems you don't. Let me help you.

New Testament “Apocalyptic” is derived from the Greek verb apokalupto , “to uncover,” and so “to disclose, reveal.” The opening word of the Book of Revelation, apokalupsis , means an “uncovering,” “a disclosure, a revelation.”

So the last book of the Bible means a DISCLOSURE, AN UNCOVERING, REVELATION. And your exaggerated one liner with all the multiple question marks already REVEALS your motive & questionings rather than the furthering of growth by faith.

Let me include the context that further explains how those real things occur:

And there were flashes of lightning, and rumblings, and peals of thunder, and a GREAT EARTHQUAKE THE LIKES OF WHICH HAD NOT OCCURRED SINCE MEN WERE UPON THE EARTH--SO MIGHTY WAS THE GREAT QUAKE. The great CITY of Babylon split into three sections AND THE CITIES OF MANY NATIONS FELL INTO HEAPS OF RUBBLE. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and he made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath. THEN every island fled, and no mountain could be found.

It seems plain, literal, believable because we have all experienced earthquakes and seen repeated pictures of cities turned to rubble, etc. However, this one coming will be the largest one in history.

Revelation 6:14 The sky receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.

Have we seen both verses happen before in historical real time? Yes, then there is no reason to doubt God is once again doing something real not symbolic. The majority of Revelation has been revealed & the symbolic interpreted. However, Revelation repeats it takes a spiritually mature & discerning mind to understand the revealed interpretations of the symbolic terms uncovered, disclosed, revealed.

Rev 13:9,10 HE WHO HAS AN EAR, LET HIM HEAR.:10“If anyone is destined for captivity, into captivity he will go; if anyone is to die by the sword, by the sword he must be killed.” Here is a call for the perseverance and faith of the saints.

Rev 13:16,17 And the second beast required all people small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18Here is a CALL FOR WISDOM: Let the one WHO HAS INSIGHT calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is 666.

Revelation 17:9 This CALLS FOR A MIND WITH WISDOM. The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.

Matt 24:15,21,22 “So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (LET THE READER UNDERSTAND)...For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.

Dan 12:2-4 And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. 2And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life & some to shame & everlasting contempt. 3And THOSE WHO ARE WISE shall shine like the brightness of the sky above & those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever & ever. 4But you, Daniel, shut up the words & seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to & fro & knowledge shall increase.”

Dan 11:32,33 With flattery he will corrupt those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him. “Wise leaders will give instruction to many, but these teachers will die by fire and sword, or they will be jailed and robbed.

This debate has gone on for years. The flood wasn't a global , entire earth, event.

Other cultures have a recorded history during the time the deluge is said to have occurred.

The confusion arises when the text reads as the waters covered the face of the earth. Leading us to think the whole planet was covered.

If we read about Cain, we'll see a similar picture in Genesis 4.
"Behold, you have driven me out this day from the face of the earth."
Genesis 4:14 Behold, this day You have driven me from the face of the earth, and from Your face I will be hidden; I will be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me."

While the Hebrew of verse 14 refers to ground.
    Genesis 4:14 Hebrew Text Analysis

Cain lifted off into space then? No.

    See red bold.
It's not literal. It's figurative. Note that if you are taking it literally, you are talking about a city in Iran.

The Bible teaches that only 8 people survived. There is no debate about a universal flood when you read the Bible.

    1 Peter 3:18-20

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God’s patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

    2 Peter 3:5-7

For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these
the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.

The only possible debate is whether it covered the entire globe or the inhabitable earth. That said, it is a pretty meaningless debate.
