I would like to hear some responses to this question. Has the law of God been abolished?

Jesus said He came to fulfill the law and the prophets, not abolish. But….

Paul says in Ephesians the law of commandments has been abolished by the cross of Jesus Christ. He seemed to be focused on aspects of the law that divided Jews and Gentiles such as circumcision and cleanliness rituals.

Certainly some aspects of the law are no longer in effect: the sacrificial system for instance, while other commandments contained in the law: love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind strength and live your neighbor as yourself: endure as fulfilling the whole law.

Jesus fulfilled the law, so in that respect it is no longer in effect or binding. The truths contained in the law can still guide us in understanding our relationship with God and how we should live.

    peace to you

The ceremonial law has been abolished. The moral law (the 10 commandments) is still useful as a rule of life for Christians and for use by civil authorities in making legislation for the society. The moral law is abolished in the sense that performance of it has nothing to to with justification - even if you are only saying that Christ died and now requires following a milder form of the law where God has relaxed the requirements so that sincere obedience is all that is required and the penalty is no longer death.

From a dispensational perspective the law will be again be restored with a remnant of Israel after the tribulation in the kingdom

Impossible. No more law, no more sacrifices, no more Temple. No separate future for Jews and Christians. No 1000 year reign on earth.

    peace to you

Right, both show no 1000 year reign on the earth. The context is the martyrs that die during the tribulation reign “with” Christ for 1000 years.

Christ reigns in heaven for all eternity.

    peace to you

No, context is clear. The reference to 1000 reign is that the martyrs will reign “with” Christ for 1000 years. There is no mention of that reign being on earth. Christ reigns in heaven for eternity.

The reference to Satan being loosed for 1000 years is prior to the rapture.

John does not write in chronological order. He writes in repeating themes.

No new temple. No separate future for Jews and Christians. No 1000 year reign on earth.

You will just have to be satisfied worshipping God in heaven.

    peace to you

There is only the one "first resurrection." The mere fact only the tribulation saints are the ones mentioned. The rapture happens after resurrection, 1 Corinthians 15:52, 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17. Christ's reign begins but does not end with the millennium. Revelation 11:15.

    Why?

that’s an affront to Christ and His death

Christ fulfilled the Law as pointed out

what is the purpose of it being reinstated?

If you mean that in eternity the Law is active in that those who have been redeemed wonderfully and faithfully fulfill the Law due to Christ, I 1,000,000% agree

I view the Lords day as a positive day.
We get to worship the Lord using the means of grace.
We get to assemble with fellow saints, and do works of service...visiting the sick, nursing home ministry.
We get to open our homes in hospitality, biblical fellowship, and bible study.
It is not a legalistic day with mosaic sabbath police.
    It is a delight.
