I have often thought of that

I boiled it down to this

    where else would God live?

heaven is an extension of who And what God is

Where was God before he created the (3rd) heaven?

(not being argumentative - to have a good discussion)

The Bible does not tell us. Anything will be speculation

He was in - with the angles, and ect

But to rephrase your question: - What was God doing before He Created Heaven"

lets add that to the discussion

Our human minds cannot comprehend such deep questions

Could there have been others that God Created before us humans?

God is from eternity past which in itself mind blowing

Yes! Before creation, only God existed (in three Persons). Could the realm in which He existed be called the "third heaven" and thus God did not create that "heaven?" I do not think scripture answers that question, so I would leave it as unwise speculation.

One of God's great attributes is his creativity. Such does not end when this existing heaven and earth have been done away with in a fire.

Nor, (though the Scriptures do not state) when the New heaven and earth come about.

Speculation is like the 7 thunders? Not yet revealed, sealed, and unknown.

But as any good mystery a great way to anticipate eternity!

God wasn’t “anywhere” because He hadn’t yet created any place to be. God existed. Nothing else.

    peace to you

Since “time” is one of the things that God created, the concept of “before” applied to a timeless eternity is meaningless. Until God created … there was no yardstick to measure “before” and “after” against. There was only GOD … existing and perfect in His tri-unity.

After God’s little “experiment” with time is concluded, we will join “merciful Him Whose only now is forever” in the timeless perfection of His tri-unity of being.

    (It’s a metaphysical thing.)

I tend towards Heaven (capital "H") being defined by the "abode" or presence of God. I think it is important to keep in mind the Christian view of Heaven being God dwelling on Earth rather the pagan idea of men going to live in a type of "heaven" when they die (e.g. Norse, Egyptian, Roman, Greek mythology, Islam, etc).

    How about this
With our mortal thinking - we are not able to fully understand the full concept

Kinda like a first grader trying to understand Quantum Physics

If Heaven was created, God created it.

It’s like one of those tents where you are on the inside but there is no room, then you struggle to get both ends of those flexible poles into the little sockets … suddenly (POP) it all just falls into place and this big open tent space magically springs up around you.

[I think it might be related to “pulling yourself up by your own boot straps”]. :)

If we concede there was a “place” that God existed before He created anything, then we must also concede there is something that is eternal other than God.

If there is something (a place) that is also eternal, then God ceases to be unique. In fact, one could conclude there is possibly an infinite number of “places” (alternative universes) that exists, each with its own “God” that is co-eternal with that “place”.

    Speculation leads to heresy.

“In the beginning, God”. That is really all we need to know

    peace to you
