1) I do not have to agree with everything anyone ever wrote or said in order to quote them. That would be an absurd requirement.

Most of the comments/questions from the anti-grace crowd is just that - absurd.

then they cannot be "true" sovereign grace Baptists

Probably so, but it is in the title of the church I attend. Since I have only been attending there for less than a year, I don't know all its 35 year history and why that is the name, but it would probably more accurately be titled Trenton Street Grace Church instead of Grace Baptist Church of Ruston. That being said, we do baptize believers by immersion and observe the Lord's Supper as our two ordinances, just as the Baptist Churches I am aware of do.

Yet there are people, even among believers in the sovereign grace of God, who will attack someone who quotes someone, say, for example, Charles Spurgeon, because he said nice things about John Wesley. Now, I wish Spurgeon had not said those nice things about John Wesley, but if someone believes that their salvation is based on the finished work of Christ alone and in the elect's sins being imputed to Christ and His perfect righteousness being imputed to them, I have no interest in jumping all over that person because of some isolated remarks they made about someone else.

If it is not, then you, and I, have no hope. Neither you, nor I, can efficaciously save ourselves.

Acts 7:51, "You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always RESIST the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you"

You asked, 'how does one know that they're elect?' I ask,
How did you know you were a sinner?

You think those described in Romans 3:10-18 know that they are sinners?
My question was about how does one know Christ died for one prior to believing, except by a general redemption?
If one hears and acknowledges Romans 3:10 is true, one understands one is a sinner.

The command is to believe, not to figure out if you are one of the elect.
