Ken your calvi theology has led you down the wrong path.

God used what is commonly called "Calvinism" to get me out of the Pelagianism I was raised on in the Church of Christ but it was insufficient until God opened my eyes to my need of a perfect righteousness that I did not possess and that I was incapable of producing and that I could only find in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord my Righteousness.

Well Ken you may not like being called a Calvinist but you keep showing that you are one by your posts.

I am a sovereign grace Baptist and I would appreciate you using that going forward if you are going to call me by a moniker.

Having some fancy title like "Doctor of Theology", etc. means nothing if what the person says is not in agreement with Biblical teaching. Do you just accept someone's teaching because they have some title attached to their name or because they are well-known or famous in theological circles?

No, I actually read what the bible says and do not have to change words or meanings to fit my theology. I use various commentaries and dictionaries to check my understanding of a text. That is why I will use a number of them from different theological views.

But one thing I do know is that the bible does not contradict itself.

When you say the Holy Spirit does not know the difference between world and elect then that becomes a valid comment. Your saying you know what God really meant to say. That is dangerous ground to step on.

I am saying no such thing. That is your false characterization. It is you, sir, who are refusing to accept the Biblical teaching about election and about the precious blood of Christ shed in propitiation for the sins of God's elect. You, sir, are the one, if you believe that Christ died for every human being who will ever live, that is claiming that Christ shed His precious blood for souls already lost at the time He died on the cross.

Sure it does. Do a word search of chosen, predestined, elect, and adopted sometime.
That is what I have done. My arguments are based on having done so. The Greek and how translated. And then there is the Greek grammar.

Actually, it is by holding to Biblical teaching.

Which you have been shown a number of times you do not. You do not trust what the text says, you have to change the text to fit your theology. That is not holding to biblical teaching, that is holding to your personal view of the text.

My hope for you is that you will trust the Holy Spirit and just read the text as He inspired it.

Then if you want to post truth you need to start trusting what the Holy Spirit inspired without your changes, additions or deletions.

I do. You are the one who needs to start trusting what the Holy Spirit inspired to be written without your man-centered theology and lack of understanding that God is absolutely totally sovereign - man is not king, God is King. God is the Potter and you and I are mere clay to be used as the Potter purposes for His glory.

I use various resources as well.

If you only use ones from a certain theological view then you will only know that view and it will be like living in an echo chamber. That is why I have a number of Calvinist resources that I use also.

Calvinists do not have everything wrong but they do have many of the main things wrong.
