You really believe that don't you, that is so sad. You continue to deny scripture. You are so prideful that you can not see the possibility that you are wrong. That is the height of arrogance. You continue to hold to your Calvinism in the face of clear scripture.

Do yourself a favor and use Blue Letter Bible. Do a search for believe and how it is used. Who is the one that believes God or man? I really feel sorry for you Austin, I think you would like to know God but the God you have in view is not the God of the bible rather He is one of your imagination.
I read your own words and see you put man as the cause agent. You wrote:
"God saves those that trust in the Son."

Is it really any different than saying "God helps those who help themselves"?

To bad you did not trust what the bible says. But your Calvinism has blinded you. Just help yourself and do the word study. That is unless your afraid that by doing it you find that your Calvinistic view is flawed?

I trust the bible, do you?

LOL, you keep telling yourself this lie. You do this when you realize God's word shows you your error.

Funny how you never deal with the text I post except to just disagree. Do yourself s favor and actually deal with the text. You said I was wrong then prove it.

All your showing is that you do not accept Scriptural Authority. Calvinist philosophy is your master.

You realize @AustinC is not saying belief is not part of the equation right? But WHY does someone believe since nobody seeks God on their own? That is the question you refuse to answer or acknowledge.

So God regenerates based on something we do. Works based salvation, got it.

Ya it is called faith in His son. Faith is not a work but you would not know that as you seem to deny whatever the bible says that you do not like. Galatians 2:16

Did you even take the time to read what I posted and then deal with the scriptures? I doubt it as you just make off hand remarks with no substance.

Deal with the scriptures then come back.

Already dealt with these passages on many occasions, showing you your error in each passage. In each instance you fall on your Boogeyman, calvin.

It's time for you to deal with these very scriptures and know they support my position that God is the cause agent who determines who is at the wedding feast and who isn't. God is the cause of my belief.

You keep saying that I am dealing with Calvin but that is incorrect. Look at the text of the bible. You are the one that hides behind Calvin. The text is clear but you still deny it. As for your dealing with those passages, I have pointed out your errors in basic understanding of the text. You want to add a special meaning to the text rather than just read the text as it is in the bible.

You must think that the Holy Spirit got it wrong as you keep correcting what He said. It takes a certain amount of arrogance to question what the Holy Spirit says. You have made Calvinism your authority rather than the bible.

Have you or I ever read Calvin's writings. I haven't. I read the Bible nearly exclusively and I observe what I believe in scripture.

You teach a form of "God helps those who help themselves."

Actually I do have his institutes and his commentaries, that is so that I can see where all those crazy Calvinist ideas came from.

As you just said you are able see in scripture what you believe. But scripture is supposed to inform you of what to believe not, as you say, what you believe informs the bible. You look for verses to support your view even when that requires that you take them out of context or misread them.

Scriptural Authority is something that you seem to have trouble with.
