    It is clear Repubs underperformed Nov 8. Dems will claim victory, perhaps even keeping the Senate.

    What realistically explains this results? Please give your thoughts. If you believe “cheating” occurred, give specific examples and how it effected the results.

    Does this result spell the end of Trump’s second run, before it officially starts?

    In my region the democrats had 70% of the advertising and they pounded the drum of the woman's right to abort. The constant drumbeat of fear must have won over a society that has little clue that the farmland around them is sooner than later going to stop feeding them. Somehow they seem to think that food magically appears at their grocery store. Welcome to North Venezuela.

    What role does the media have in hyping or suppressing stories to shape the narrative?

    What about our education system? Has 50 years of intentional promotion of liberal ideology in our public schools finally reaped big rewards for Dems

    The Republicans put up weak and idiotic candidates, mistakenly believing that since the Democrats do that successfully they should too. I'm in Ohio where Mike DeWine, who is seen as reasonable and "normal" stomped his Democratic opponent while J.D. Vance had trouble, with about 400,000 votes less than DeWine. Trump needs to retire. If he runs again he will lose again.

    Didn’t Vance win by a large margin?

    I agree Trump shouldn’t run again. Not sure he would lose if he did.

    Did Trump’s attack on DeSantis hurt turnout? Certainly not in Florida, but elsewhere?

    I think people,, even Trump supporters like me, are just weary of all the drama he generates with his comments. That really is how I feel about Trump. He wears me out.

    In short, terrible candidates — many chosen by Trump himself.

    MAGA people also grossly overestimate how popular their views (and Trump) actually are.

    Many folks have had enough of the extremist rhetoric.

    Yes. He ended up doing alright as the later returns came in. I voted for him and have his book. But you have to be careful in Ohio if you want to get many votes north of Columbus. I was referring more to inarticulate former ball players and celebrity Muslim doctors. Normal candidates would have beat their respective opponents like a drum.

    I voted for him too. Even have a hat. You hit the nail on the head with the "drama". Politics ain't bean bag but it's not Big Time Wrestling either.

    Concerning extremists views, the Dems have used the most outrageous language to demagogue repubs perhaps in history. They literally stated if repubs won, it would be the “end of the world”.

    Drag Queen story time, CRT, abortion ion demand up until the moment of birth all seem very extreme to me.

    But perhaps I’m just old. The world has passed me by and my views are now the minority. Perhaps.

    Concerning Pennsylvania, Oz did better than expected, imo. The Dems won by keeping Fetterman out of sight until they had a couple of months of early voting in. It proved to be a good strategy for them.

    Concerning Walker in Georgia, he hasn’t lost yet. Tough to beat an incumbent. You are correct, though, he is a flawed candidate, lots of baggage and not very articulate.

    He has good name recognition and deep roots in Georgia, which keeps him in the race for a runoff.

    I am only speaking for NY State
    Part of the situation - many R's have moved out of NY - due to high taxes
    (thats why Rush Limbaugh moved out years ago)

    Here in NY "
    There are now more New York voters who decided to not enroll in a party than there are registered Republicans in the state, newly released numbers from the state Board of Elections show.

    The numbers, released Monday, show there are 2,744,859 active Republicans in New York compared to 2,750,309 active voters who did not enroll in party. Democrats now have more than six million registered voters in the state."

    In NY we just dont have the numbers.
    But the R- candidate for Gov did a very good showing with a 2.7 million vs 3.0 for the dem.

    But the Lord is still in Control - though I am concerned about the politics of NY - I am Weeping for Oneida as we seek to bring people to a saving knowledge to the Lord Jesus Christ

    Up until years ago there were 9 parties with automatic ballot status. But the then Governor got tick off at the Working Family party because they would not endorse hi - so he made it harder for minor party to maintain automatic status.

    Even though a party does not have Automatic status - you can register with any party you choose

    NY does not have "independent voters" just simply "no party"
    NY also uses the fusion voting plan.

    As you can see - in the '94 election - the Democrats received more votes than the Republicans - but with the Conservative Party fusion - the R- candidate George Pataki won the election - but for the following 4 years the Democrats claimed Row A on the Ballot.

    I'd say the issue is probably abortion(I thought this would happen when Roe vs Wade was overturned).

    The reason I think this is polls have shown that 30% to 40% of Republicans support the "right" to abortion. If liberty is a priority (historically it has been with Republicans) and the data is accurate then a large portion of Republicans believe that the GOP platform is encroaching on the rights of citizens.
