For the entire Antarctic continent, the winter of 2021 was the second-coldest on record, with the “temperature for June, July, and August 3.4 degrees Celsius (6.1 degrees Fahrenheit) lower than the 1981 to 2010 average at -62.9 degrees Celsius (-81.2 degrees Fahrenheit),” according to a new report from the NSIDC.

Just saw a story this week about increased sun spot activity and major solar flares occurring over the past few weeks.

Scientists have known for many decades the connection between sun spiot activity, or lack thereof, of slight variations in surface temps on earth.

Good news! “Global warming” isn’t happening.

Yesterday, I was thinking back to the hottest stretch of weather I have ever been through, which was back in 2000 when we had a bunch of well over 100 degree days, the hottest being 112 degrees. I may have missed it, but I don't recall the news media making a big national deal out of El Dorado in southern Arkansas baking in the sun. Also, 6 of the 9 days before August 14, 2000, were 100 degrees or above. This info comes from a good website for data: www.extremeweatherwatch.com.

While I'm not sufficiently versed in climatology and physics to attempt addressing causes, the temperatures in my little part of the world - northern New England - have definitely risen during the past 40 years, especially in this century. Even considering that the 1960s-70s were somewhat cooler than the 40s-50s, the overall increase seems valid and the past 20+ years have seen the change at its greatest.
Snowfall has been different, as predicted by some models, in places where winter temperatures average far below 32°. Most climate models predict increasing precipitation in humid climates like NNE, so even though we've been getting more rain/ice in recent winters, the amount of snow has also increased.
Another common prediction is greater extremes, which I've also noted. (I've kept weather records for 60+ years though currently I only have the 50 years in Maine, with some gaps in 1973-75. The earlier New Jersey records failed to make one of the crosstown moves in Fort Kent.) Of course, those extremes provide ammo for both sides of the issue.

Edit: The forecasts I've read for Death Valley topped out around 130°, with overnights 100 or a bit above. A few degrees either way from that 130 is no surprise but crushing by 5° the world's highest temperature on record (a somewhat disputed 134° in Death Vally) is highly unlikely.
