You say it is sound but I see that he is ignoring scripture and instead is reading into scripture a calvinist philosophy which denies the truth of scripture.

You need to show and explain said deception. Neither @Silverhair nor I need to agree. But if what you believe is actually true, it would help others, should it not?

How am I deceived BF. I quote scripture and you disagree with it. You post a comment that you say aligns with scripture and I say it does not as it twists the meaning of words and of scripture. So since you follow that errant teaching who is the deceived one BF?

Justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus !

    1 Cor 6:11

11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Declared righteous for His Names Sake, because of His Person and Work. This echoes Gods Promise from the Prophet Isaiah Isa 45:25

In the Lord shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

BTW the Seed Of Israel is but another way of saying the Seed of Abraham, or Abrahams Seed. Lets look at 2 Chron 20:7

Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

The Seed of Abraham here is the same as Israel. And again Isa 41:8

Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?

And both Jew and Gentile Believers who belong to Christ are Abrahams Seed Gal 3:29

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed/Israel, and heirs according to the promise.

Those in 1 Cor 6:11 were Justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, they are also Israel, the Seed of Israel promised to be Justified in the Lord.

Now the whole point of this is to show that those Christ died for were Justified in His Name alone apart from their believing in Him, though that would come to pass later based upon the Divine Promise "The Just/Justified SHALL live by Faith"

Faith will be given by the Spirit to all whom have been Justified in the Person and Work of Christ !

You keep missing the obvious, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And to make sure you got this point, that faith come first then righteousness from God, the Holy Spirit put in scripture three times Rom 4:3, Gal 3:6 & Jas 2:23

You refer to Abraham as an example and so does Paul.
Rom 4:23 Now the words “it was credited to him” were written not only for Abraham,
Rom 4:24 but also for us, to whom righteousness will be credited—for us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.
Rom 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our trespasses and was raised to life for our justification.

So we see that one is justified by the risen Christ. Paul states this again here:
    1Co 15:13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised;
1Co 15:14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain.
1Co 15:15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised.
    1Co 15:16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised;
1Co 15:17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.

But the question remains, for whom did Christ died?
Joh 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
eb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.
1Jn 2:2 He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Rom 5:6 For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

And a further question remains, why would God send His only Son to die for sinful man?
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
1Ti 2:3 This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,
1Ti 2:4 who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

So if God wants to save then how and why does He save anyone?
Rom 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek.
Eph 1:13 And in Him, having heard and believed the word of truth—the gospel of your salvation—you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

So we see that Abraham was declared righteous because of his faith and we are saved by God because of our faith.
Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God,

    So your conclusion is wrong.

I post scripture that supports my position and your response is that I am deceived.

Get your head out of the calvinist closet.

I have yet to see you give sound biblical responses to any post. You just do auto responses that mean nothing.

When you deny clear scripture than it is time for you to look at the philosophical position that you are holding.

Acts 13:38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Here Paul states the gospel message: that is; that we are justified by the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and forgiven of our sins. Also, he states that the law of Moses could not justify anyone... Brother Glen:)

You are funny BF. The problem you have is not with men but with the Holy Spirit/God. Those are His words that you are denying.

If I read the words as they are written how am I being deceived? The fact that you deny them actually shows that it is you that has been deceived.

But I think I should be fair and let you show where you think I am deceived. Show me from scripture BF. You have the habit of doing these drive by disagreements but you never back up your comments with scripture.

You said in post # 27 "the whole point of this is to show that those Christ died for were Justified in His Name alone apart from their believing in Him," I said your conclusion was wrong and responded in post # 28. Respond biblically to the verses that I posted in post # 28 since you say I am deceived.

The difference between you and I is that I trust what the bible actually says and you believe what some calvinist has told you the bible says.

Scriptures that indicate Justification in the Name of the Lord, which is Justification based upon the Merits, Person, and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ. All of who He is in His Glorious Person and what He finished and accomplished for His People resulted in their Justification before God. Another scripture that reveals this is Isa 53:11

11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

The many here are Justified by the righteous servant knowledge and bearing their iniquities, so by His Person and Work. Nothing to do with Faith unless we are to consider the righteous servants Faith/Faithfulness !

We are foretold that Christ would be a "guilt offering" {Isa 53 :10} the propitiation for sins. "He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world." 1Jn 2:2

    But again you ignore scripture. While Christ is the guilt offering one is only saved if they trust in the risen Christ {1Co 15:13-17} which I pointed out to you in a prior post {see post # 28}

Why do you keep ignoring scripture? We are justified based upon the Merits, Person, and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ. But we only justified if we place our faith in the faithful one. "For by grace you have been saved through faith;..." Eph 2:8

Why do you not respond to my post # 28? The scriptures are clear but you just keep repeating the same out of context verses that actually do not prove your case. If you view is correct then surely you have contextual scripture that will clearly show this.

@Brightfame52 my goal is to help clear up the confusion you have regarding salvation through faith in the risen Son.

Christ bore the sins of the whole world and many will be saved because they freely trust in Him for their salvation. His death paid the sin debt of mankind His resurrection made salvation possible. That is a biblical truth that you seem unable or rather unwilling to accept as it would prove your philosophy wrong.

Still not dealing with scripture I see. What does the scriptures say BF.

You still have not dealt with the scripture that clearly supports what I have said. What scripture in post # 28 do you disagree with BF?

What I notice about all your posts is that you make unsupported claims and still ignore scripture that I have posted. You do not need to believe me but you should believe the word of God.

Respond with contextualized scripture BF. All you are doing is proving that you deny clear scripture and have no real biblical support for your view.

Christ resurrection is proof/evidence that those for whom sins He was delivered for, are Justified for it. This is based Solely upon His Person and Work, so its justification in His Name!
