Act 16:30 and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Act 16:31 They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
Christ's death has covered the sin of mankind and made it possible for all to be saved but only those that will freely trust in the risen Son will be saved.
Rom 3:21 But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
Rom 3:22 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction;
Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 3:24 being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;
Rom 3:25 whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;
Rom 3:26 for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
Rom 5:10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
1Co 15:17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.
Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
Please note the condition set out by God for one's salvation, FAITH. God has provided the means of our salvation [John 3:17] but it is the responsibility of each individual to receive that gift.

Salvation is totally by Almighty God by the election of His free sovereign grace ALONE, nothing added to it by fallen man. If fallen man had a part based on his fallen will, then it would be spoiled and of no account.
Romans 11:5-6 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Good Grief, must we once again discuss the obvious truth, God chooses believers whose faith He credits as righteousness for salvation. Thus we can believe all the right things, whatever you believe they are, and believe with complete sincerity, but that only puts a person in the bin from which God alone will choose.
Such a simple concept, but according to some, it is beyond understanding. Mind-boggling. They refuse to understand Romans 9:16. On one hand they claim, the lost cannot will to be saved, and then on the other they say if someone wills to be saved, that means their "works" saved them, which of course if false.
On and on they post the same rubbish, but never addressing the obvious truth.

The "remnant" here is of Israel. It is the remnant that is elected, not who will be in the remnant.

Salvation is only though God but He only saves those that freely trust in His risen son.
Actually fallen man does not add but he does have to believe. That seems to the stumbling block for those of the C/R view.
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
Eph 2:9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
So Rom 11:5-6 does not say that faith is not required but it does confirm what Paul said in Ephesians.

Election applies to ALL of God's people.
Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

As Ephesians 2:8 clearly teaches, faith is "the gift of God".
The Elect or Chosen are the ones who choose to believe on Christ in the prescribed order chosen by God.
Only His way, and there is only one way.
The remnant are chosen as a remnant, in other words by free will placing them in the remnant.
To put together in a nut shell all that I've been saying, those who choose to believe on Christ have been chosen by God/predestined to His plan to be conformed in the image of Christ.

The false gospel of free-will religion teaches that salvation is not finished until fallen man, not God, decides to finish it.
The false gospel of free-will religion causes man to boast, so that if a free-willer is asked how do they know they are saved, they begin with, "I did this, or I did that, or I did this other thing." They begin with "I".
The elect of God are taught Biblically, if asked how do they know they are saved, to begin with, "God".
Prove that what I've said is wrong in Scripture, not by your perverted opinion.
I was saved by grace through faith the very moment i believed the Gospel.
I have nothing to boast about, that is insanity, God brought to me the Gospel, provided everything I needed to be saved, without any help from me. I only believed and trusted Him.

There it is, the "I" word. Free-willers seem to always, in some fashion or form, come back to self, to "I".
That's lame, Ken. You're grasping for straws at this point.
Even if you hold to the 5 points you still have to believe and trust Him.
The same exact thing you did. So your point makes no sense that "I" did something.

Free-will religion claims that fallen man brings the faith up from within - somehow - and did it themselves, thinking that they finished what Christ could not finish. Free-will religion teaches that God is helpless without man's assistance. The "god" of free-will religion is no different than the gods of ancient Greek mythology or the "superheroes" of modern-day Marvel movies.
God's children give God ALL of the glory, knowing that Christ finished it ALL and that their faith and good works are exclusively gifts of and from God.
You have a very perverted learning of "free will." Someone has lied to you, Ken.
God singles out all of us with the Gospel, provides everything for us to be saved.
Just as in the Garden when Adam and Eve had the "free will" to disobey God, knowing the consequences, God respected and gave them the choice to do that against His will.
It's the exact same today, Ken, nothing has changed from the very beginning. Man still has a choice with God.

No, Silverhair, salvation AND faith are gifts from God.
No fallen human being has the ability, nor the want to, to believe in the finished work of Christ on behalf of God's elect as their Surety and Redeemer.
God does give the ability and the want to, to those He chose before the world began and gave to His Son to be their Surety and Redeemer.
God is absolutely totally sovereign. No mere human being has ANY sovereignty. Period!
