Which part would that be?

The Bible is roughly 1/3 history, 1/3 prophesy, and 1/3 instruction.

Which do you believe is not inspired by God?

Hey Mikoo, I have provided differences between KJV versions of the scripture for your consideration. I think the differences are important and worthy of note and will possibly help or hinder our knowledge and understanding of the mind of God whose words they are. If you do not agree I have no problem with that and I would not argue with you about it. The scripture is all I have to know God. I have no visions of him , no hidden knowledge, no miracles. I am in the position of having to rely totally on the accuracy of what he says. Meanwhile, I see through a glass darkly.

He does say this that moves me some.

"The Law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul."
"The words of the LORD are pure words."

I am so simple that I believe this but I support your right to believe whatever you want and I thank you for trying to help me.

I use the one I believe and I believe the Bible I use. Studying the differences in KJV Bibles is an exercise for you intellectuals but it means nothing to me. The difference in KJV Bibles is often due to the publishers. I have owned KJV Bibles in my time that I found errors in but I only recognized them because of the many times I had read the text. The publishers were just careless. Many people publish the KJV because there is no copyright restriction. For instance, one KJV I quote on this board most often has hundreds of errors in it. It is the KJV from BibleGateway. The errors are in the names of God.

If this is not the most important transition in the scriptures, it is at least the most important in the history of the world to this point. This is the very beginning of the third millennium of human history and according to Rom 4 it is the place and time that Abraham was justified by his faith in believing God. It is the place and time when the word of Jehovah became visible and was revealed to have personality. Word of the Lord would become the title for this person as he spoke through his chosen men and prophets. His name from this point on and in this occupation will be the Lord GOD (Adonay Jehovah). Neither his name or title were known before Ge 15. Before this the plural name of God had been used, the LORD God (Jehovah Elohim).

The word of the Lord, the Lord God, is Jesus Christ in the OT and the NT. Both Lord God and word of the Lord appears in the NT scriptures, referring to Jesus Christ ,13 times each. The word of the LORD comes to Ezekiel in his book 60 times and the Lord GOD is speaking some 210 times. Jesus Christ truly is the Word, as John the apostle says.

Many times I correct the errors of BibleGateway before I post them but sometimes I don't knowing there is likely no one of the intellectuals who will notice one way or the other and I doubt if most people here even care.

I can't really see how anything in the scriptures could be more important than knowing this truth about our Lord Jesus.

The KJV that is published by faithful men is right. Words matter to God and to me.

I see your have a brilliant mind on display here Fan, but I cannot see how knowing that stuff can help me in my walk with God.

Was it the Vulgate, Geneva, or?

As far as English goes,
I hold that there is none currently available which is more diligently researched, more carefully translated and more faithful to the original Greek and Hebrew texts today, than what is commonly called the "King James" version, or the "Authorized".

Before that existed, I would have considered anything that used ( as its only textual sources ), what would later become the "Textus Receptus" in the Greek and the "Ben Chayyim Masoretic" text in the Hebrew, to have fit into this same category.
In fact, almost anything in any language existing outside the influence of the Roman Catholic Church ( while still adhering to the above stated texts as their sources ), I would have seriously looked into and probably would have used.

My English short list ( subject to revision as the Lord leads me ):

Tyndale's work and those of the men who carried it forward from there, which include Taverner's, Matthews and Coverdale's.
Bishop's Bible.
The Geneva Bible ( possibly ).
The Great Bible.

As a "KJVO" in the textual basis sense,
I hold that it and anything in any language that uses what I believe to be the correct Greek and Hebrew texts ( in addition to being translated both as faithfully and as accurately as is humanly possible ) actually reflect and preserve the original and inspired words of the living God.

Anything outside of that ( in any language ) I believe to be ultimately corrupt and untrustworthy... and I would have neither used them nor recommended them to anyone.
My belief is that God's words have been ( and always will be ) available to His people, no matter what language they speak or in what time era they are called out of; But to me, not just any "bible" will do...it must fit certain criteria.
