Exegete it
You claimed that “bought” means something other than “redeemed”. Both are financial purchase terms. So you exegete it! What else can bought mean?

All you have said is that “bought” isnt redeemed. What does your Calvinism tell you it means? What buying did Jesus do of these people? I wait with baited breath… I prophesy the replies now:

”No, you first”
”Just running your mouth”
”Exegete it”
”What about X verse over here”
”He blinded your eyes”

Your post explains 1 Pet 1.
You dont say what “bought” means in 2 Pet 2:1. You just say it’s not blood redemption… you dont say why. You dont say what 2 Pet 2 means, so here I wait.

Yeah. I didnt bring up 2 Pet 2:1, I explained what I posted. It tells me Christ blood redeemed from a vain conversation and its a different word for redeemed by blood. So 2 Pet 2:1 says nothing about Christ redeeming by His blood. If thats what it means, exegete it and prove it, otherwise its posted for nothing. Im explaining how them He died for are redeemed from prison of unbelief. No one has refuted it yet

Just because Peter used the word “bought” doesn’t mean he’s not talking about the same thing. This is a synonym to talk about being purchased, redeemed, saved. In fact, both first Peter and second Peter passages referred to salvation and being purchased by the Lord.

Again, I will point out that you deny the obvious meaning of “bought” in 2 Pet 2:1. You refuse to answer it because you have no rational explanation for what “bought” could otherwise mean.

Prove what “bought” means in 2 Pet 2:1!

Thats not about blood redemption. Peter had already taught them about blood redemption by Christ here 1 Pet 1:18-19

18 forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Thats a different word for redeem by Christ and different results. So its incumbent on you to exegete 2 Pet 2:1 and explain how and why its the same as 1 Pet 1 and why it contradcits it.
What you really must explain is how the bought elect can deny the Lord.

You have said it is not about salvation. You have said it doesn’t contradict. It sounds like it does. You’ll need to tell me what it is saying because I don’t understand what you’re telling me.

I’d like to start a thread on corporate election since I’m going to be teaching through Ephesians one soon. Unfortunately, I’m concerned that BF will completely hijack a thread with multiple single posts and no substitute ability to move it forward. Not really interested in having that clog up a thread. Maybe if that happens, I could get a mod to help make sure it is productive.

So it comes out to be you dont believe a word of Rom 5:10

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

How are they saved according to this scripture
Without being enemies at some point, there is no need for reconciliation.

But the point is that the death of Christ reconciles us. Jesus said it is finished.
But there is more!!
Jesus was raised. Jesus conquered death. We are also saved from death.
Jesus conquered not only sin, but also the consequence of sin.

But you have lost your self in trying to figure out about whether or not salvation comes to the lost.
Of course it comes to the lost. They that are whole need not a physician. So Jesus came to those who need Him. And the people who need Him most are the people without Him. The ones who are still enemies.

This is who did Christ dies for BF

Joh_3:17 the world
Heb_2:9 every man
1Jn_2:2 the whole world
1Ti_2:5-6 for all
1Ti_4:10 all men
Rom_5:6 the ungodly
Rom_5:8 sinners
2Co_5:14-15 for all
Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Are they all redeemed from your "prison of unbelief"?

If only some are then why only them?
