OK, so you agree that there would only be two daytimes as well as only two nighttimes with a Friday crucifixion.

...and the distriction between the 6th day and Friday.

What distinction, Friday is the 6th day of the week.

The 6th day begins Thursday at sundown. Friday begins midnight following.

Do Baptists in general believe that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week?

Probably, but that would not be because they've studied it out fully, to rationally resolve the conflicts.

The next view being the 4th day of the week.

My view is that Jesus was crucified on the 4th day of the week, our Wednesday, on the Passover, the Day of Preparation before the Annual High Day Sabbath, the 5th day of the week, our Thursday in this case, however, the Annual High Day Sabbath occurs on Nisan 15, regardless of what day of the week it falls on.

Nisan 14, the Passover, the Day of Preparation before the Annual High Day Sabbath, falls on our Wednesday about 1 out of every 3 years.

I believe a Wednesday crucifixion resolves all the alleged difficulties in the various verses regarding it.

I wonder how 6th day ones explain the absence of a third night.

That is just one point where the narrative has to rely on an awkward stretch that does not consider Jesus' words about His being in the grave being a direct fulfillment of the Prophecy in Jonah.

Just to mention it, this 'preparation' would simply be on the 6th day, our Friday, before the second of three Sabbaths that took place during the Seven Days of Unleavened Bread.

That 'preparation' would be preparing for the normal, weekly Sabbath, on our Saturday.

Then, what if it neither. We need to be in the Bible to gather our facts, don't we?

Should be looking at the type of Jonah in the fish's belly.

That's a great place to look, since that is where Jesus pointed that can help us understand the day He was crucified.

"40 for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the whale; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Jonah 2" Mt 12:40

Much can be said about this specific scripture, as to what it means and what it doesn't, or can't, mean.

Some say that the Scriptures indicate that there were two sabbaths during that week, the weekly sabbath on the seventh day, and the other the first day of unleavened bread, which John calls a "high day":

That's right, this graphic shows the Crucifixion Week and were those 2 Sabbaths fall, on Nisan 15 & 17.

Jhn 19:31 Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

This Preparation Day would have been on Nisan 14, for the Annual High Sabbath Day, on Nisan 15.

Perhaps "the majority" instead of "in general" would have been a better choice.

Sorry, the title was poorly conceived with regard to the intent of the topic. It was clarified in the first post.

So, you're saying that if the term "Friday" is used that it can only be referring to a day which begins at midnight. But, that the phrase "6th day" can refer both to a day starting at sundown or midnight? And, that if "Friday" is used that there would be 4 nighttimes involved with a "Friday" crucifixion?
