Many pastors preach a full message on the Wed night service.
When I grew up - (of course back then, we also had Sun night svc)
but on Wed, the pastor would give a 10-15 devotion - then the remained of the service was spent in prayer.
In addition, we would split in men, women, teens and children.
Our church would call our Wed svc: "THE HOUR OF POWER"
In addition, once a month - our emphasis on Wed was missions.

So how about your church - it is a full preaching service, bible study, prayer or other.

My independent “baptistic” church has a Wednesday night Bible study / prayer meeting led by the pastor. Half hour teaching, then half hour praying.

About 200 attend Sunday morning service. Only about 12 show up for the Wednesday night meeting, which is ridiculous.

We also have a small group meeting at several homes. It happens every other Sunday at 4:30 pm. I attend the one at the pastor’s house. About 12 show up for it.

Our Thursday service is a prayer meeting, starting with a short Bible study. On the first Thursday of each month we make it a missionary-focused prayer meeting (not that we don't pray for missionary work at other times too, but the first Thursday has that as its particular emphasis.)

Growing up in a SBC Baptist Church, the Wednesday Night Service was called a Prayer Meeting.

In the IFB Church, that I've been a member of for the last 10 years, the Wednesday Night Service is called a Mid-Week Service.

Our Wednesday are very busy. When our Day School and College are in season, the College meets at 3:30, with willing Adults and High School students, and they organize into groups and go out soul winning.

At 5:30, we have a meal prepared to serve.

At 6:30, we have our Bible Institute, usually Expository Bible Study through a book of the Bible. This year, the Book of Revelation.

At 7:30, we have our Mid-Week Service. Which is Expository Bible Study through a book of the Bible. This year, the Book of Daniel.

We also have a women's group that goes out on visitation on Thursday mornings. And Churchwide visitation at 6:00 on Thursday evenings.

On Saturdays, we have Bus Breakfast at 8:00 am, followed by the Bus workers going out on visitation on their routes. At 9:00 am, we have a Women's group called the Phoster Club, and a Men's group called the Fishers of Men, that meet and pair up, and go out soul winning.

On Saturdays, from November through March, at 10:00 am, we hold Senior Patriots. Which is a program of Music, Message, and a Meal.

I love how many things your church does.

I like Wednesday night to be a Bible study.
